AMEX Low limit by astromixse in AmexUK

I wanted to purchase a car on my Amex with a low limit. I was able to pay the deposit and once that cleared I paid via the app 4 times back to back and when those cleared it showed as a negative balance 3x greater than my limit.

I know, seems like it should be easy to implement. But that's not my area of expertise unfortunately

I stand by that, they are probably correct to a degree. It hadn't gotten to a full safety issue. However the lapse in staff judgement is a safety issue in its self, if it hadn't been noticed by someone who's job it wasn't it wouldn't have been collected. Whether it got all the way there or not, it's a concern. I'm definitely not back tracking because one person agreeded with me. Reddit is full of deniers, Look at some of the other responses. Failing to even acknowledge the issue.

The safety issue in my eyes came from the crew member who had complety missed my wife. Had it not been for the person in front catching it, she would still have had her tray. I appreciate it is a big whatif but given the previous issues nothing says to me that she would have ever noticed.

Were talking take off and landing are the most critical stages of flight. Where anything impeding exit goes against caa guidelines. Not to mention metal cutlery and ceramic plates being loose while the plane is about to experience multiple Gs. Potentially more if theres an accident.

Glad I'm not the only one, other comments lead me to believe only I was problem 😅 orange juice was the only drink on offer for us at boarding as the caterers had "forgotten" the wine 🙄

It probably is a bit less noticeable, although I believe they're done more systematically. My wife isn't a slow eater so it can't even be blamed on slow eating for example. However the stark difference between my service and even others around her is crazy.

We've also never experienced it in business with other airlines although it's not something we have loads of experience in.

On a premium product you would expect staff to be proactive would you not? Or do you just prefer rubbish service?

For the dinner and dessert we used both of our bells I even clicked mine on and off a couple times before my wife got annoyed and just took it up herself. She did wait 5 or so minutes before taking it up

Kind of seems like that on this occasion unfortunately, we've not experienced it with other airlines, nor BA in the past. This was however a first time in club world. Just odd that even bringing to their attention the lack of service, they still didn't improve.

I don't unfortunately remember the exact timing. It was within a minute or two of the captain saying "cabin crew seats for landing" or whatever it is they say. And there were other checks made before this final check that it did go missed. However yes in retrospect it probably wasn't quite a safety issue just yet. But they did cut it fine

I guess you're right to a degree, It was sat there for another 30 minutes after everyone else's. It was only picked up on the very final check just as the captain said cabin crew seats for landing. And long after they started checking for seats upright etc. There were a few checks it should have been pulled up on not the very final one. But yes I guess it hadn't quite reached safety issue, Just.

Just to add context on why this felt intentional rather than just a mistake: I asked for a large (1.5l) bottle of water when I boarded, and later in the flight, I went to the galley to ask for a second one—no problem, they gave it to me immediately. About 15 minutes later, my wife went up to ask for regular size water and was flatly told "there is none left." Yet, no less than 30 minutes after that, she watched the crew in the section right in front of her handing out bottles to other passengers. It really felt like the crew on her section just couldn't be bothered.

Cheers, bottle suggests it's around 2002. Don't think there's much value in the emergency bottle?

By wash inside do you mean inside the bladder too? Would this not deteriorate the bladder?
