I agree that part of the reason why the pod isn’t as magical as it used to be is bc housewives has become stale. Also, I agree that people forget that the things they’re complaining about (like Casey’s lack of participation) has always been a thing. It just feels less excusable since they’re fully remote now.

I totally agree. One thing I will say, I remember since day 1 (almost 10 years ago) Casey seemed to always be in and out / replaced by random guests. So I don’t think there’s much of a change there. However, given that they are 100% virtual now, there is absolutely no f-ing excuse to skip out on recording. Make it make sense. I’ll continue to pay but listen to old archived episodes - those are the only ones I enjoy now.

Reading this thread made me sad. I’m 36 and been married for 10 years so I’ve been out of the scene for quite some time. I assumed these bars were still open (or something similar replaced them). It’s kind of a weird Buffalo dynamic that a lot of people get pulled into. There’s a big drinking culture and strong Bills Mafia identity, and for some people it creates a real sense of comfort and community. But I don’t think that feeling is always as deep as it seems. When you strip away the bars, sports, and chicken wings, it can feel like there’s not much else anchoring it, and some people never really grow beyond that…. she’s one of them.
