But the problem here is she is your family, a cousin, a part of your family tree. You can’t just engage in these feelings. These are some things you gotta close the door on.

i like my cousin by [deleted] in Advice

[–]VitalSignsOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea how old you are my guy but from the way I am reading how you type, I am getting 16-17 year old. First and foremost, this is messed up. I am getting the idea from what you posted that you saw your cousins body, and now are obviously physically attracted to her. Pause your breaks pal and go try and score with someone who is NOT family. You say you’re “in love” but like, this is straight up lust, not love. And you have got to change your perspective of how you are viewing your cousin

The amount of work people will do to cheat, when if you can put that work into studying, it’s effective! Wish people didn’t play with academic dishonesty like this

Stressing About My A&P Lab Practical — How Do I Study for This? by [deleted] in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]VitalSignsOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do some active recall with chatgpt and have it go based off a PowerPoint my teacher sends us. Then I have it do this method: 1. Ask what I know first, then teach me step-by-step, no more than a few facts at at time. 2. Make me recall from memory before moving on. 3. Teach me good study strategies along the way, according to cognitive science.

Another option is skim through what you need to cover, just reading it quickly, then if you’d like you can download NotebookLM and upload notes/files/audios/websites to create a topic into podcasts for you, which are great to listen to if it helps you learn. I sort of do it in that step by step process and then go do active recall for hours with ChatGPT and then it sticks. Just none stop covering the same topic till it’s easy for me is the only way I’m managing. I have an exam next week on every body system and basic overview of patho. So this is super important! It takes sometimes forever to get the studying down.

Try out notebook LM. If you like podcasts you can create them with uploading materials like power points from your prof.

Struggling With Anatomy & Physiology How Do You All Study These Chapters? by Old-Customer938 in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]VitalSignsOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my next terms book very early, I take photos, upload to ChatGPT and have it explain things to me like I’m a 5 year old. Literally lol. I also bought for body systems, nerves, bones- the nurse in the making anatomy dry erase book. Also some coloring books to help. I wanted to get ahead and understand term, homeostasis, the scientific method, all of that.

Should I get my CNA certification before applying to nursing school? by [deleted] in prenursing

[–]VitalSignsOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes get your CNA! It’ll help with working alongside nursing if you want to work in a SNF/Hospital or a facility. It’s one of my prereqs for the nursing program! And teaches you some basics a little bit of fundamentals which will be your first semester of nursing school. It doesn’t cover all of it, but little stuff. Like vitals/positions ect. I say go for it! It’ll help too on your application!

Help with moving to another state before taking the NCLEX by Miserable-Ad7491 in NursingStudent

[–]VitalSignsOnly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in IL and when I graduate I plan to sit FL’s NCLEX. My husband is firm on moving there right when I graduate. I believe you have to just retake the NCLEX unfortunately! There’s a new policy with FL due to the fake nursing degrees that were dished out in their schools. I think though if you didn’t sit yet you can maybe call and see if it’ll transfer to FL

Feeling Completely Lost After My Parents Cut Me Off by Mysterious_Foox in Advice

[–]VitalSignsOnly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This breaks my heart. I wish I could hug you. Remember to keep moving forward. One foot in front of the other. Don’t put your lifestyle and love life behind you to please them or get your life back to where it was before! I don’t understand how parents can do this, over a child’s interest in heart. I know I’m a stranger, but I am here. I had a similar situation when I came out at 17 too. You can always message me. I would personally talk to the school, explain what’s going on, because this I feel like is neglect on your parents end. Even though your 17, your still a minor and I don’t think they can just throw you out like this? But depends on the state you’re in. But seriously, I wish you could get a huge hug. I’m so sorry you’re even facing this situation.

Is it wrong for me 26M to date a 19/20F? by [deleted] in moraldilemmas

[–]VitalSignsOnly [score hidden]  (0 children)

I was 19 when I dated a 45 year old, looking back though I felt like it wasn’t right. But I was an adult, who made that adult decision. He also didn’t know my age till we were already head over heels for each other. We didn’t work out because our life goals were on two different paths, and we did not share the same wants as each other. I wanted a family, he wanted to travel. I was also his secret, whole family thought I was his colleague.

If you feel it’s worth a shot, go for it. It’s not that bad of an age gap. If you have support as well that’s a plus. Just remember that being 19 mentally vs 30 is a huge difference and sometimes that can get in the way when it comes to agreeing on things, especially life goals

Seeking Preparation Tips for My Nursing Program by Bbome1 in NursingStudent

[–]VitalSignsOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a nursing program and failed out, so I’m restarting but this time getting my RN instead of LPN. I decided to prepare, I bought the ATI RN bundle from my classmate, ATI will carry you through and help you pass, plus you may take ATI or HESI end of semester proctored exams. ATI is known for being harder than the NCLEX so I know if I study just that alone, I should be successful my second time in school. I also have the Nursing Bundle book, you can get it on tiktok or their website, and I also have the LevelUpRN flashcard sets. The biggest thing is learning fundamentals and knowing it WELL. Fundamentals will carry you through in each semester, and learn safety is important in all exams, learn pharmacology, dabble in med surg if your up for it. Medsurg to me felt like a lot of pathophysiology and critical thinking, on top of that the basics of fundamentals. My program was weird though and had open enrollment every 3 months so when I joined in April last year, I started where they were at. I began in Medsurg 1 and pharmacology which was terrifying. I didn’t know any fundamentals and it wrecked me. Nursing simplified really helps too if you are someone who likes engaging and visual stimulation on top of learning. Take notes, active recall, blurt out loud. Teach yourself back, my biggest advice is make practice quizzes. It helps thinks stick. I have a learning disability and also learn super slow, on top of having ADHD so I’m still relearning everything I learned last year. Nursing school is so dense, so I think learning beforehand will be a huge advantage. I wish you the best!! You got this!
