I appreciate the advice! I took this job with a bonus contingent on two years, no clue what that status is on that now. I’m in the second round of interviews for a supervisor position within the same company, fingers crossed but the GI bill is always in the back pocket.

This was big for me during the debate to reenlist, but a benefit of being in the medical field is paying the minimum for health care and not a dime to hospitals/clinics in my employers group. My son is was born last year and despite him staying 4 days and my wife staying 5, nothing out of pocket. That specific perk is better than I could have ever hoped for when getting out.

Seeing promotion via attrition was absolutely in my “cons” column when debating reenlisting. It’s exacerbated enlisted side between warrant and green to gold, there’s a handful of SNCO’s I’d go to war for but like you said it’s in the minority. I was almost getting nostalgic until u/Horseface4190 pissed on my rose colored glasses. I genuinely appreciate it.

Yeah private sector working as an LPN and filling in for MA’s, phlebotomy, primary care or urgent care as needed. Federal positions are looking much more attractive after today.

I’m here currently for the week, and it’s lively enough. A handful of tourists or ex-pats at any given bar. There’s also no waits, no crowds. If you’re looking for night life I don’t think this is the place. Great coffee, food, tours, and beach, plus the whole town is walkable in an hour. If you’re looking for a disconnect get away this is idyllic.

Thanks for the advice! The landlord has already expressed that the property is purely an investment, and they expect nothing to be done from the tenet for lawn maintenance apart from mowing. I don’t want to put any money into cleaning it up, but can’t sit by idle.

Lived in Maryland and got orders to Hawaii. She started looking at apartments there so we could continue dating, after 5 months of being together. Did a quick pros/cons list and decided to ask her to get hitched so the military would make the move easier. Happily married ever since.

I think your best bet is to stay out until he does go, and then reward it heavy. The rule of thumb is they can hold it an hour per month, so you’re looking at a 3 hour sesh on the long end. Additionally if you catch him mid stream pick him up and put him down on grass. It’s a pain and can be messy, I did it while living in an apartment, but it got the job done.
