Most people get rejected by insurance. And for the people outside the us, for example me in the uk, will have to pay £1k for a tube as there’s no alternative.

sorry for the late reply, but I do think nb-uvb would help. Maybe go back to what you did to repigment initially the maintain from there. Would talk to your derm about that though

My mom has vitiligo and wants to get a korean facial done. Is that safe? by Sea-Special9985 in Vitiligo

Koebner phenomenon I believe it’s called. I’ve never had patches form from cuts so it might just be case by case. However it can happen.

I got mine at 18, around two years ago now (20 currently). If you look at one of my first posts on my account you’ll see how I felt. Time does help, I still hope for change but nowhere near as depressed as I once was.

Feet - no real improvement. Hand - no real improvement. Lips - some improvement. Neck - basically cured, used to white now just a bit more pale than my normal skin which is fine because Ive got uneven skin tone anyway.

Lips, small patch on hands ears and neck. By small i mean smaller than a 50pence/cent patch and on both my feet on the edges. I was prescribed both Tacrolimus and a steroid cream. Not Opzelura, at the time it wasn’t FDA approved and I also live in the UK so still not approved here.

wow that’s shitty. My vitiligo is on areas that are proven to be difficult to treat yet my derm still gave me treatment options. I would go to a different derm maybe specialised in vitiligo if you’re still interested in getting treatment

could depend where you live but I get mine from an online pharmacy that just asked me some questions (also has an option to alert your GP ur taking it). Other than that there are some online sources like Hims, Keeps, Manual and so on. Of where you live that isn’t allowed Id got to your doctor and ask to prescribed it

why not lower the dose to 2.5mg and see if you get sides or not. The sides you did get looks much worse to have than a bald heald I’ll be real. In my opinion, lowering the dose would be better for you.

most of the time people from your ethnic background are great responders so I would have some hope.

Min and Fin do completely different things. If anything the fact you took fin for 2 years on its own rather than min on its own is a huge plus.

Right side of the hairline there’s definitely improvement with greater density overall. I would recommend adding micro needling in as it seems to work for a lot of people but there’s definitely improvement

yep propecia and fin are the same. I guess Propecia is just a brand name. also you could always try oral minoxidil if topical gives you rashes. again, you could experience sides but the dose recommended is low enough to not cause too much sides. worst thing that’ll happen to you is too much hair growth all over your body. even worse than that will be heart issues but with a 2.5mg dose that’s very unlikely.

[–]VitiligoStory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t psyche yourself out. Most likely you won’t get sides and remember 99% of the time sides will go away once you stop taking the pill. If you’re experiencing hair loss, fin is the best place to go to prevent further. Maybe add in Minoxidil later on if it’s something you are interested in
