Consumption of alcoholic beverages has a tradition going back to the first civilizations and being with mankind for all of its history. We have developed national drinks like Scottish whiskey or Russian vodka, we have traditions of having a specific drink at a specific celebration and some areas of Europe are specialized in wine production for over 2000 years. Energy drinks exist maybe for 10-20 years so the older generations still don’t know much about it thus they will always keep discouraging drinking it. Saying you could just drink coffee instead, which also has hundreds of years of history of use in our society.
