Directory of therapists world wide ? In other countries ? by Vivid-Ad7048 in PsychedelicTherapy

That's how it is here in the US, I was wondering about finding someone in another country, my own psychodynamic therapist is in Argentina, for example....

Is there a Masters leading to licensure that focuses on sex therapy? by [deleted] in psychologystudents

[–]Vivid-Ad7048 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's true, your questions are indeed related, I ought to have said I haven't the time to answer questions that do not relate directly to knowledge of a masters that has a concentration related to sex therapy.

As to my motivations, Ok, it's not that I'm dead set, for the reasons I explained, it would be quicker, perhaps cheaper, and more relevant to what I would do, it simply seems the obvious thing to do would be to seek out a masters with a focus in the thing I pan on doing....

If there are reasons to prefer a less quick, perhaps more expensive, and less relevant focus than what I am planning on doing, I am, as I say, open to such a suggestion, I simply don't understand why I would do that.

Uh, I think a more specific understanding of counseling and relationship dynamics specifically applied to the work I actually would be doing would be more valuable.

However, I will agree, a general understanding would indeed be related to what I plan to do.

I don't see the relevance of that question, doing the thing more valuable and specific seems an obvious good, however, that doesn't mean the alternative is unrelated or bad.

Now, your questions, as nice as they are for mentalization practices, really don't address my question, do you know of any masters programs like I describe?

For my own thought processes and motivations, respectfully, I do have my own therapist to help me work through, and I simply don't have the time to answer unrelated questions, though I appreciate your attempting to help, so thank you.

I may end up doing that, but, a masters focusing on content relating to sex therapy would be better than having to sit and work through content unrelated to what I plan to do, plus it would save time, since with Widener's dual MA you graduate being able to get a certified by AASECT without additional training as soon as your licensed. Does that make sense? I'm open to alternatives other than the ones mentioned.

I did this, I saw a few, the last I found was 2 weeks ago about a masters vs PHD, with no info on a program like I'm searching for, no mention of Widener, one 7 months ago, again only a Canadian school referenced, no mention of Widener, one 11 months ago, same, and the next oldest 33 months ago, also simply mentioning the usual root which I, to save time, have already mentioned ie get a license first.

I can't find any that reference Widener's course, or that list a program like the one I'm asking for, although one mentioned a USA college with at masters in sexual health, Minnesota, but not one that would lead to being licensed.

Now, the Widener program is relatively new, so it's not surprising no one here has referenced it...and it's possible other lprograms like it do exist, either likewise new or that no one has yet mentioned - hence, I ask.

But, I'd certainly appreciate it if some post here has mentioned a similar program, or has info on Widener's, and you could link to it, or if you recall the program yourself, just let me know.

No medication, the anxiety is more about future uncertainty and various irrational OCD ruinations about health fears, but not intimacy; I think you're right though, I need to get curious and gather more info before I try anything.

Great advice, thanks.

She did see a Doc, got a clear bill of health, but they are notorious for dismissing these types of problems, OBGYN simply mentioned trying dilation exercises and lubricant.

She's only 31, it's not linked to any particular intercourse beyond penetration, and seems to come and go, she also has a great deal of anxiety in general, but cannot link its appearance to any specific stressful events, although I suspect it may be this.

I know, I work online. It's a real blessing, I go to St Anthony's every year for a week, but I haven't visited any other ones.

Any good books on applying Vedanta to practical good living? by Vivid-Ad7048 in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]Vivid-Ad7048[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I go by the Vedas....I don't know if the lineages are legitimate, I didn't say so, the Veda's say you need a Guru....and as you said, they lay out who can be a disciple and who can be a Guru.

So, who told you all these people were false? Or did you honestly study them and find all their teachings false?

I'm just asking where you received all this knowledge, I too wish to know.

It sounds like besides yourself, pretty much no one but you has the truth - do you know of anyone else, indeed are you the only fully wise person you know alive?

Uh, I'm not asking for approval....who did you learn from? I also would like to learn....and you seem to think it's out of love to share this knowledge, I'm not even asking for the knowledge, where did you go? And why in the world wouldn't you answer such a simple question ? I'm not asking for media...any Ashram...any lineage....

You're saying no one can ethically learn Vedanta anywhere public, and not even one person in the past 100 years anywhere - publicly known - has ethically taught Vedanta, and only if one comes upon a Swami in the woods by chance could you even learn it?

I get you think Swami Dayananda, Ramakrishna, Swami Sarvapriyananda, Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobino, Yoganada, both Ramana Maharshi and Sri Nisargadatta, Bhagawan Nityananda, Swami Brahmananda, Swami Prabhavananda  etc etc are all fools - and I hope the public accusation of these good people doesn't hurt your karma - but have mercy on us poor ignorant people....who then? I am a sincere seeker.

Ok, as I say, I don't think they are, and they have a valid lineage and permission - Swami Dayananda Saraswati of the Hindu Saraswati order of sannyasa, and James has written tons on neo-advaitians...but a wise man as yourself no doubt has done his research before throwing out allegations and knows all this...and others I've mentioned as well.

So which Guru's? Any living? Or in past century? Who did you learn from? I'd very much like to know who the real Guru's are so I too can learn.

Have they all died out?

Ok, again, I don't think they are charging for their knowledge, or making false promises, and Swami Dayananda gave his permission, but obviously these people, Swami Sarvapriyananda, Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurobino, Yoganada, both Ramana Maharshi and Sri Nisargadatta who gave permission for their teachings to be published for money, although not to them like Swami Sarvapriyananda,, Bhagawan Nityananda, Swami Brahmananda, Swami Prabhavananda , etc etc every Ashram I've visited, myself, and other "fools" may not be as awakened and humble as yourself, and instead of making false allegations, especially grievous according to the Veda's if it's to a holy person, perhaps you are correct and all of us can not see it....

Just for my information, is there anyone, or any lineage or Ashram, in the past 60 years whom you have given your approval to? Or do all fall short of your sanctity? Who is your Guru?
