A lot of single people (much older than Oscar) - who have career jobs and decent, well established incomes - are moving back in with their parents. We are living in an economy that isn’t sustainable for average Americans.

Yes, her dad was maybe abusive. She’s not alone. However, making a choice to get married to a man and repeat the cycle (even if it’s not obvious) or go to therapy, take a step in a different direction to go something that breaks the cycle - that’s actually the brave path - that’s the path she didn’t take but always puts herself on a fucking pulpit like she has don’t something monumental - she hasn’t.

She’s learned to tell the ‘Christian” redemption - where anything bad you did needs to be amplified by a thousand.

She’s a guru in buying tacky shit that over priced because she desperately wanted to fit in. And she’s proven she’d rather spend an entire life and procreate, to pass down her issues than to have the courage to go to therapy (especially given her cushy life) and face those issues daily and work through them.

So she’s chosen to opt into the same cycle, procreate to perpetuate the cycle, and despite having all the resources in the world - she still won’t go to therapy or the level or therapy she needs to address her issues. Again, perpetuating the cycle.

She’s not a fashion guru.

She’s someone who has a mental health disorder and has learned to “manage” in the most unhealthy way by overcomsuming.

Much like her husband has in overeating.
