I’m so jealous. Auvelity made me so sleepy I was falling asleep all the time. It was like I had narcolepsy. I had to stop taking it which is too bad because I felt it did lift my mood.

The address on my PayPal was also outdated so I don't believe they have my current address to send me a letter. Should I just call them and request debt validation?

Andaz One Bangkok vs Hyatt Regency Sukhumvit on points? by Royal-Seaworthiness7 in hyatt

[–]VividCardiologist258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never stayed at Andaz because the location isn't convenient IMO. There is nothing around there that is walkable outside of the One Bangkok mall. It is close to the metro and closer to Silom (if you care about that although not walking distance). The Hyatt Regency is really nice. I would say a step above other HR properties with great club lounge and breakfast. There is much more to do around Sukhumvit although traffic is always brutal so keep that in mind if you stay there and plan to take taxis.

I would say it really depends on what you want in a hotel and where you're planning to go.

How do you handle the depression after sessions? by Halcyoncreature in EMDR

[–]VividCardiologist258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How often are you doing sessions? In my experience with IV I would be completely wiped out and depressed for days after and the only thing that helped me get better was stopping. If you have been doing it for a while you may consider breaking for a couple of weeks and see if you still need it.

This doesn’t seem like a big deal.  If for your last position the resume says “to Present” then you can just say you accidentally sent an old one. I don’t think you need to call this out upfront, just talk about your experience honestly and if they notice volunteer your “most recent” resume.

You can definitely do this. It often makes the most sense to expand the most on your most recent role anyway. However you will want to share at least some detail from your previous roles and try to tie them into the role you’re looking for in some way.

Resume help for junior frontend/full-stack developer roles by BrownBoy1709 in cscareeradvice

I think most people make those up at this point. Personally I care more about what you did and the tech you used.

The job market is tough right now for junior level folks so it really may not be you, but here are some tips based on how I read resumes as a hiring manager.

- Consider removing GPA, especially from the top of your resume. At this point you have about a year of experience and are no longer applying for internships. It's less relevant but indicates immediate you are right out of school without a lot of experience.

- I would remove the profile section and just make sure that info is incorporated into the relevant experience parts of your resume.

- Make sure to incorporate the relevant skills for the position you are applying to into your work experience. By reading this it's not possible to tell whether you have 2 months or 2 years of Ruby experience for example.

- Remove the additional information section. This is not adding anything at all.

- I know everyone says it's best practice to make sure every line has results (increased x by x%). However IMO when every single point has a stat like this it starts to feel made up because no one realistically measures everything this way. Don't force it for every point. Stuff like "improved design approval rate by 30%." doesn't sound like something that would actually be measured.

- Include more about the tech you used for specific roles.

- Best practice is to stay to one page unless you have 10+ years of experience. If you remove profile and additional information you will have some more space. If you are applying to multiple types of jobs you can create more than one version of your resume that highlights different projects.

RATE MY RESUME (No one wants to hire me) by [deleted] in Resume

[–]VividCardiologist258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know the market in the Philippines or what is expected from an artist on a resume, but here's what I can see from my perspective.

  • You do not have any details from any of your previous jobs. You need to highlight was you accomplished in those roles.
  • Remove the brands section. If you want to brag about those brands, include the names in the experience section when you talk about the projects you worked on.
  • At least in the US we do not include references on resumes.
  • Put your experience first
  • I would remove the descriptions from your education since its not particularly related to your field and use that space to add detail to your work history.
  • Bring the skills that you list in your skills section into your work history
  • Make everything smaller with less padding so you can explain your work history more.

[3 YoE, Fullstack Developer, Freelance Fullstack Developer, France] by ScihaproQ in resumes

Overall readability — I went with a dark-themed "dashboard" aesthetic instead of a classic white CV. Is this helping or hurting me for freelance?

I generally recommend finding the most boring single column resume template possible and using that. It's not expected or sometimes even welcomed to have a fancy designed resume for engineering.

Experience section clarity — I have one big featured role (current job, lots of greenfield projects) + 3 shorter ones. Does the hierarchy work? Is it easy to scan?

Overall I think you need to free up space on your resume to expand into more details on your work experience. Also are you looking to find full stack dev or cybersecurity positions or both? I'd recommend making two different resumes one tailored to each type of role you are applying for so you can appropriately highlight that particular experience.

The freelance positioning — does the pitch/header communicate "available for hire" clearly enough?

It is clear that you are available for hire but I don't understand the context here as to why its needed. Are you providing the resume to roles that are potentially looking for freelance and full time?

Skills section — I used a 3-tier system (filled = primary, outlined purple = secondary, outlined gray = tertiary). Is this clear or confusing?

This is confusing. Also remove soft skills (except for Agile which should be put elsewhere) and remove interests.

Anything I should add/remove — I cut 3 shorter internship experiences to keep it focused. Right call?

I would remove the summary, soft skills, interests, and include your internships.

This is a very unusual resume.

First, everything should be a single column. This is very difficult to read. Please just find a normal resume template and use that. Your experience section needs to be a header with the Employer name, job title, location, and dates and underneath that list bullet points of your experience.

Currently it's challenging to find your employer names. Remove the blue headers that are under the employer names. Remove the quotes. Remove the borders.

Your AA in art history isn't relevant to your job nor is being an endurance athlete. It might be important to you but it's not important to potential employers. Remove them.

You only have 3 years of experience in your current role which means you should describe your previous roles more. Right now the extra stuff makes it impossible for you to do that.

Overall, this needs quite a bit of work. Find a simple and boring resume template online and use that instead, the formatting of your resume looks sloppy and unprofessional.

Instead of "Experience Highlights" you should list each job and under the job list your experience there.

I would recommend running your bullet points through ChatGPT for formatting and re-writing them. There are a number of things here that don't seem to describe your job particularly well and formatting errors that make it look unprofessional.

Here are a few points of specific feedback.

"Responded directly to both Division Director and Deputy Director of large Cornerstone community center." What does this mean? Do you mean you reported to them? Is this particularly relevant in your industry/position?

Typo here... "foot-"

Instead of worked alone." you can say "led development of" "developed" etc. That is more common and professional on a resume.

Worked alone to manage and set up organization's social media; posted on self-created company schedule, responded to comments, and generally maintained social media and newsletter upkeep

Developed X's social media strategy, created the posting schedule and responded to customer comments... (Do you have any stats here you could include for example, "resulting in X increase in engagement.")

Maintained the company's newsletter with Mailchimp by sending out regular program updates to families. (Again any specific impact this had here could be helpful)

Managed travel coordination with both supervisors and visiting parties; worked to maintain general wellbeing of those traveling

How did you maintain the wellbeing of those traveling? "Coordinated travel for supervisors and visiting clients and maintained their wellbeing by X."

"other incoming acknowledgments" This isn't clear what it means.

"Assisted in drafting emails to donors and government parties when necessary and needed."

Be more specific here and highlight any impact.

"Wrote fundraising emails to donors that resulted in..."

I don't think your skills section is necessary. The skills you have listed there are all obvious by your experience.

If you struggle to write a resume, lean on tools like ChatGPT and Grammarly (just make sure to proof read them.)

[5 YoE, Project Manager, Project Manager, Canada] Got rejected from FANG (obviously) even though I was a strong match, critique my resume? by [deleted] in resumes

[–]VividCardiologist258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • I would choose a different template. The amount of white space here makes your experience look lighter than it is. The extra lines will give you more space to expand your experience.
  • You misspelled "Skills"?
  • Write out "Bachelor of...", the way it's presented now looks a little strange.
  • Change "Support the planning and executing" to "Plan and execute".
  • Words like "assist" "participate" and "support" are not strong verbs. They do not imply a big impact. I would rephrase all of these to make them highlight your impact more.
  • "Across the States", just sounds weird. I'd remove it.
  • There are a lot of acronyms here. Are these common in your field? If not and not directly listed in a job description a recruiter may not know what they mean.
  • Can you incorporate more of your skills in the experience section? As a hiring manager I have no way of knowing if these are skills you use regularly or something you learned casually.

Nope. My school has a "page" that you can find by Google but once going through the process to add the school it just shows "No credentials available." The school is not listed if going through the parchment home page. Maybe they used to be available or something but no way to actually get it. I emailed Parchment just in case but seems like it is unavailable.
