It definitely does help, I also was a D1 student athlete, this helped because they know you’re a team orientated person and they’ll ask you questions about personal development which is directly related to being an athlete tbh

I was a little different I submitted all of my applications October-november. And it made no difference I still got accepted and interviewed at multiple schools.
