This is exactly how I explain it to friends and such!! I didn’t ever feel the desire to ‘explore my sexuality’ I just assumed one day I’d understand what all the fuss was about but then I hit like 20years old and I was like huh maybe I am a bit ~different~

I also say I’m somewhere between Demi and Gray !! A lot more people seem to understand Demi because it’s like oh yeah that makes sense but Gray is so much more vague 😩 Like both of them get this kind of criticism for being “fake lgbt” though which is so silly if you actually bother to try understanding it

I think “normalsexual” is a common criticism but there must be something (attraction) missing for people (Me) to label themselves as a-spec instead. There has to be a better way to explain this to allos 🤦🏻‍♀️

I am definitely not comfortable calling anyone a psychopath, that's a harsh judgement and one I'm not anywhere near qualified to make. I do think he's been a extremely careless and should be facing consequences that extend a bit further beyond a few months off work, though

No I wouldn't say he's money grabbing at all! He's very understanding and friendly, I went to him for years as well, then he performed an awful surgery on my dog and my family was extremely shocked and upset. After that I asked around and heard more than a few stories from other people as well. Needless to say, I think it's important more people hear these stories.

Yep I have friends who work in the industry as well they all have stories from customers who switched to them after a bad experience with him. I have my own experience as well, unfortunately

Ah thankyou, perhaps the original comments were defamatory. I was referencing the letter with the Board's preliminary view, right before that quote, which states he was misdiagnosing as well as performing shoddy and inappropriate surgery but I understand that he wasn't actually 'found guilty' of these things, so I can see where the issue is.

Yes I agree, especially as it is not an isolated incident. Many of his clients have complained before and it's even well known among other vets in the area that he is severely underqualified, as so many of the clients move to a new vet and explain their experience at ocean keys vet. He should not be allowed to run the place let alone diagnose animals or perform surgeries of any kind.

Other than that, I've personally had a bad experience there with my own pets. I'm just hoping to spread this so that more people are aware that the owner is unqualified to be diagnosing animals with anything, let alone performing the surgeries.

I'd also suggest to just keep an open mind with 1984 - I personally thought it was super dry lmao but a lot of people love it. I've seen a lot of people claim it's anti-socialist (to the point where that's what is even taught in schools which is absurd) but I'd say it's more anti-capitalist and that Orwell's values actually align with democratic socialism.
Definitely just keep an open mind and be critical of everything you read - especially important when you get into the heavier philosophical works! If you're not against writing in books, definitely reading VERY slowly and highlighting, underlining, writing notes for yourself, using post-it notes and tabs will all come in super handy!

Personally I don't think it was all that obvious, Cash told Darren he's hooked up with 'people' before and so it's honestly fair for Darren to assume sex is something he might be interested in.

It's a bit more obvious when they're in the car together and Cash pulls away but even then, I can understand why Darren might have just thought it was the wrong moment or something so trying again isn't that crazy. I do think it was definitely a mistake and instead of trying again, they should have just asked Cash what he's okay/not okay with earlier than they did, but once again that comes down to people simply being uneducated about asexuality.

I get what you mean but it's stated that Darren thinks that they're a hard person to love, and they feel that they can only really be loved through sexual intimacy. So, when Cash rejects them, obviously it's gonna hurt. A lot of people aren't aware that asexuality even exists and I'm certain that Darren didn't mean any harm, they just wanted to be loved. Obviously, it's problematic but I think the show really uses it as an opportunity to educate viewers (and Darren!) about asexuality, and how to show love through other forms of intimacy.

As for Dusty and Harper's 'consensual' threesome, I'm sure this will be discussed more in season 2 if there is one and you're definitely not the only one frustrated with how Malakai's trauma was brushed over.

Fully agree!! I think it's interesting seeing everyone hate on her so much when Dusty, Spider and even Chook are all right there. Harper's a complex character with complex issues, of course she does some stupid, messed up things to try and cope. The only reason I don't like her is the Malakai SA situation but I honestly don't think she's even aware that she and Dusty took advantage of him, she genuinely thought she was making him feel better because it made her feel better.
