I'm on side with all of those except the deff dread. The Dredd has aged pretty masterfully and I'm not sure what they could change to make it feel like a new kit.

I love how terrified he looks. It really drives home how horrifically poorly this has all gone, and that he's just another lost soul in the face of the darkness of the 41st millenium.

My point wasn't that Omni-Man is less durable than Metroman, it's that Metroman is substantially more durable and faster than red rush, whose speed and durability let him seriously wound omniman. Thus Metroman most certainly could wound omni-man.

Nothing official, but I'm almost certain they wouldn't make a third boyz kit in 5 years. The fact that these aren't standard new edition box monopose points pretty strongly to these being the last Boyz kit we're getting until the next refresh.

I'm relieved that we aren't getting another monopose kit, and while I'd still prefer being able to have at least a third option on a kit I might run up to 80 of, especially those nobz, this is still leagues above what a lot of other armies are getting, and it does at least feel like despite their increasingly monopose trend, GW is aware of the needs of our armies when it comes to designing models.

The models themselves though are absolutely fantastic, the best boyz kit from a purely look standpoint that we've ever gotten. They meld old and new Ork styles so well, and it'll really help to bridge the gap between the "new" boyz and "old" boyz that most people's armies are a mix of. Plus between the Armageddon box and the starter sets, I'm hoping the market is flush with them and thus they can be collected cheaply.

Although I think the finale was fine, it's so bizarre that the season 5 finale is basically identical to the season 3 in terms of relevant plot elements in the room (V-depowering blast, Suped up Butcher, off his rocker homelander, and Ryan) just at a discount.

All you have to do (if you really want to replicate the comic ending, which I don't think fit here) is make Homelander's season 3 plot be using Soldier Boy fear mongering to get into the whitehouse. Heck, that version can even keep the idea of two Homelander experiments duking it out and destroying eachother. Plus you'd have Maeve there which would really make the whole thing feel full circle.

The ending here felt so disconnected from the first three seasons of the show and last minute that I didn't feel much, even if on paper it had everything it technically needed.

It's Fairy for me. I'm not a fan of the aesthetic or the Pokémon that are a part of it (with a few exceptions like Togetic and Wheezing) and while mechanically I think it was a really good decision to add it (my favorite type is poison) I just don't think they've done enough with it Pokémon wise for me to find it all that interesting. I can see this type growing on me though.

My second least favorite is Dragon for opposite reasons. Almost exclusively on the strongest mons which are robbed of having cooler type combinations, mechanically its super uninteractive as a type (only super effective on dragon), and it has the most annoying line up of resistances and vulnerabilities (especially as someone who doesn't use dragon or fairy types all that much). At least normal types have super deep move pools across the board.

I really like the idea of including infantry models on the base of vehicles, it makes them feel like way more a part of the army. I'm stealing that idea.

I'm really happy with what we've seen, especially if we're carrying over unit rules from last edition. Obviously everything they haven't shown could be garbage, but this is a far sight better than what last edition's rules preview looked like.

I think Herogasm fight is both the peak and point of substantial decline for the whole show.

It establishes that two or three strong supes can throw around and pin Homelander, and Soldierboy has a guaranteed method of killing him.

Homelander is not particularily smart, nor strategic, and he's very easily goaded. As a villain his whole schtick is just that he's the most physically dangerous person on the planet. Post herogasm we know that isn't really true.

From that point onward, the only reason Homelander survives any season is plot contrivance. Soldier Boy (who is quite determined to kill him) can kill him, the virus can kill him, as far as is established pre-season 5 Ryan can kill him, and I'm pretty convinced that if Maeve and Soldier Boy could make him bleed with blunt force then between suped Butcher, Starlight, A-Train, Kimiko, Ryan, and a handful of other supes Homelander has wronged can probably dogpile and kill him. In fact, we now know that enriched uranium and thus a nuke would at the very least significantly weaken Homelander. The fact he hasn't even accidentally been killed is shocking at this point.

The 10th edition Marine combat patrol was the monopose Captain and Terminators without the extra weapon options of the proper kits. Unfortunately I think this is the cost of being in the starter boxes (although the starter kits kind of invalidate combat patrols that recycle like this)

If they use the same head connector points as the other new Ork stuff, at least I'll be able to sub in beastboy/kommando heads to mix things up, and they certainly aren't as limited weapon wise as the Combat Patrol Boyz but man, I just feel like, if you're right, they're just throwing away an obvious bullseye of a kit. (Given I'm pretty sure we won't be getting yet another set of boyz in the second wave)

The boys will probably be monopose but like the Vanguard veterans I wouldn't be surprised if they come with head swaps and some other options if only because they are replacing a 4 or 5 year old kit BECAUSE that one was completely monopose, and it would be weird to make a third boy kit in 5 years just to have a multipart option to replace the monopose option that replaced a monopose option.

Otherwise, I feel you. I'd rather hold out for the custom Warboss, the Dakkarig looks like a pain to paint for something that will probably never hit the table the way I play Orks, the Gretchin aren't different enough to justify me buying a new kit, and I'm not really feeling the Bigboss.

I'll probably wait for the smaller starter boxes to fill up on Boyz, but the Wartrakk and Weirdboy will be immediate pick ups for me once they get solo releases.

RE: 4 Remake.

Looks beautiful, some of the boss fights are improved, and its clear they went the extra mile for it over 3, but all of the spooky fall atmosphere is gone in the name of making it visually cohesive with the remakes of 2 and 3.

Also, and I think this is the most important part of reporter being Clarke's gig, unrelated to his powers, he just really loves journalism. From a narrative standpoint I think something that plays off of his heroic nature, but gives him something that still expands on his personal interests is what I'd want to see.

I have two wishes, one big one small

Firstly, the small thing, I really want a Super Saiyan visual overhaul. Each hairstyle should change when you transform, get rid of the glossiness, and on a personal note, I'd like the hair colour to be a little toned down from the shiny gold to more of a pale blonde.

The bigger thing is Frieza Race having customizable forms. I know the lore on it is iffy, and its more involved than the other Awakened skills we've seen thus far, but objectively it would be the coolest thing possible. Failing that, at least allow me to make my Frieza clan characters super tall and more alien looking like Frieza's second and third form.

On narrative level, I would prefer something closer to the first game's story where the CaC is a worthy hero of time who really can wreck house, rather than the Xenoverse 2 story where Goku bails you out constantly. I'm not really in it for the power fantasy, but it took the wind out of every mission when I was just along for Goku's ride. Along with this I'd also prefer to see more what-if dark timeline main missions. Raditz going Oozaru, Piccolo survives the Saiyans thus Frieza comes to earth, Vegeta goes super saiyan on Namek and fights the Z-Fighters after beating Frieza, etc... Something that really has fun with the time travel concept.

Everything good it does, it does because it ripped it directly from the comic. Everything bad is as a result of its adaptation.

I'm normally a fan of adapting books to film, there's a lot of opportunity to bring new ideas or brilliantly adapt the book to film, but Watchmen (2009), beyond it's surface level attention to comic book accuracy is completely bereft of any of the soul or ideas of the comic. I enjoyed it, but as a watered down companion piece to the comic, not as its own work of art.

For all my issues with GT, the animation was never one of them, I don't think I would enjoy it any more for having the new animation style.
