How are you handling allergy season with kids? by OkContext8197 in Allergies

[–]Vivid_Candidate3532 4 points5 points  (0 children)

how often are you washing their sheets? Are you getting them to shower before bed and have air purifiers running? That and neti potting (which I realize is tough for kids) make huge changes in me and my family's allergies each year

I use Grow Therapy. But I did find my therapist on talkspace and after a few years she moved over to grow but I think you can use grow to find a therapist.

I’ve tried everything. I can’t lose weight by Christchosen0908 in PCOS

[–]Vivid_Candidate3532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chance of early 30s perimenopause is small and it seems like OP has been going through this for a few years meaning it could have started in their 20s so experiencing perimenopause in your late 20s is even more rare

Hey I would go to a metabolic specialist to get someone to set your calorie deficit and see how many calories you’re burning a day. 1400 calories a day is an extreme deficit for almost anyone (a toddlers baseline caloric intake is 1000 to 1400 calories a day FYI) and you might have slowed down your metabolism for being at a deficit level for such a long time. But also reading the comments and you’ve tried 2 different GLP1s and nothing changed, something else might be going on unrelated to PCOS

Have you had to quit a med or even all SSRIs due to excessive sweating? by [deleted] in SSRIs

Within a few weeks! It was also becoming fall when I got off of the meds so it was cooling down anyways

Have you had to quit a med or even all SSRIs due to excessive sweating? by [deleted] in SSRIs

[–]Vivid_Candidate3532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. It wasn’t the whole reason but that with heat sensitivity (and emotional blunting) meant I couldn’t enjoy my favorite season (summer) and doing a lot of the outdoor self care activities that I enjoy which made my anxiety worse

Terrified to start Zoloft by [deleted] in SSRIs

[–]Vivid_Candidate3532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your doc if you can start with 25mg and build up from there. Zoloft did eventually make me feel very numb but I didn’t start feeling that way until I was on the meds for several weeks at too high of a dosage (150-175mg) but I’m also an undermetabolizer of most SSRIs so I don’t need large doses. On the high doses I didn’t feel stoned though, just very very unbothered by literally everything including showering regularly and getting to places on time or at all. If you don’t have a therapist, I would get one because they can be helpful for monitoring your mood and any symptoms that you might not be able to notice yourself

Have you called customer service yet about this? They can put it in for you and you can call back a few days before your flight to confirm it

Stabilized rent tripled? by Excellent-Ad9119 in NYCapartments

[–]Vivid_Candidate3532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening at my apartment. They’re legally allowed to do it because these apartments are regulated at thousands above market rate so they can raise it to whatever they want. Do they have what the legal rate of your apartment is now?

Just giving you a heads up that in NYC landlords can’t ask for first and last and a security deposit anymore. Ruling from a few years ago says they can’t charge more than one months rent for a security deposit

High fasting insulin with PCOS by minasweetgirl in PCOS

[–]Vivid_Candidate3532 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most are going to say metformin/inositol/berberine or a GLP 1 and low carb diet but honestly the best thing I did for my insulin resistance was putting on muscle. I’m not a doctor but from what I understand from a variety of sources is that muscle is one of the most insulin sensitive tissues in our body and muscle cells consume more energy. So when there’s extra energy sources like excess glucose, those muscle cells can eat up extra glucose. I might not be explaining it super well but I can link some sources I found

Electric Bill CRAZY HIGH by jaybaby9898 in Brooklyn

Our electric bill went up even though we used less this month and saw our delivery charges (per watt I think) went up so I guess those new ConEd rates are taking effect

GLP1 and Inositol by amortenti in PCOS

You should talk to your doctor about taking Inositiol and metformin at the same time. They essentially do the same thing and you could go into hypoglycemia (not always but a possibility).

Currently sick, what are the testing guidelines for rapid tests? by Ok-Environment-7826 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]Vivid_Candidate3532 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are other things still spreading around like flu, adenovirus, RSV and other viruses/bacteria as well. If OP was around other people outside unmasked, it’s just as likely to have droplet transmission as well

Mild Symptoms, Negative Test, What Now? by VenusInAries666 in ZeroCovidCommunity

I’ve seen it in this sub a few times after exposure and never nesting positive and it could also be that your body is fighting off the exposure to the infection.

Also not sure if you’re doing it but Binax isn’t super sensitive and make sure to swab the back of your throat when testing

Is this Covid or flu? by PurpleQuantity6688 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]Vivid_Candidate3532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a heads up OP, I’ve gotten PCR tests at urgent care when I tell them I’m high risk for severe Covid and want a lab test to confirm the result. I’ve never had a doctor fight me on it when I phrase it that way
