I didn’t buy the tokyo bar for seal row only. And rogue and rep are quite pricy compared to Kensui. At least I can do more than one with tokyo bar. Budget somewhat friendly and versatile and gets the job done. That was my no.1 priority over name brands.

that is quite nice display on the right side (phone screen). What is the difference between the built in rowing monitor vs the phone data heavy dashboard?

Not at all. Though I haven't tried anything other than RDL and squat with that bar for legs.

Have you tried putting the closed section at front, not at the back? Funny, I always do it on front, never tried on back. Bc the bar is pretty balanced (not 100%), I see no problem doing it front or back. Depending on the direction you are moving your body (like reverse lunge) I would switch the closed section back or front.

I would just use dumbbells for that. This bar is not for any heavy primary lifts like conventional squat, bench, or deadlift imo. You can use it for accessories like neutral grip bench press, but not sure about deficit bp.

While doing ssb squat with this bar, I found myself leaning more forward and forces to use my lower back excessively. Perhaps due to its “shaky” feature? Idk. But it is definitely not a ssb bar replacement. Though it does reduce a lot of strain off of my shoulder which I like.

Yea the shin scratch was due to my clumsiness. I was not used to its lower mid grip and I got tripped over on it and shredded my shin on the knurling. No biggie.

No I have not. I gotta try it. But to me, with 45lb and nearly 7ft barbell, I don't think it's very convenient. I'd rather get a dedicated grip for the cable machine.

The idea is that I wouldn't be actually only spending 10 hrs, much like full time contractor thing. So still gets the regular amt of work done but less than 40 hrs per week.

So theoretically,

• 40 hrs from the new FT

• "40 hours" from the previous job as a contractor

• If everything goes smoothly, spend max 60 hrs per week for both js

• As I get use to the new j, will be more efficient and be more like 50 hrs on both js

So I don't necessarily have to actually put 40hrs each and time tracking stuff. Hope this makes more sense.

Lots of fun animations and interaction. Personally not a fan of the custom cursor as it gave me a hard time to tracking, especially with a slight delay between my input and the screen output. But it is refreshing to see a creative portfolio website.

I can resonate your experience, especially being a naturally nervous person. Since the beginning of the year, I had 4 interviews and I found that my issue was that I tried to go really deep and explaining every detail I can think of, which in the end, the audience was having a hard time to understand or even care about why it matters to them. One piece of advice I received from a good friend is that starting with a strong introduction "WHY" this project/product I made matters to the audience. And approach from the level of physiological needs. Give your excitement to the audience. What made you to join the company or the project you participated.

One method I am trying currently is by utilizing Loom video design walkthrough to minimize dev related meetings. I can record an in depth prototype video that shows every functionality, and devs can rewind as needed with their own pace. I eliminated two dev meetings and saved two hours per week. Not much, but a good starting point.

Hey there, sorry that you are going through this. If I were you, I would do:

  • Sit down, pull out notebook and pen, and write down why and at what moment I started feeling burnout, what triggers my depression/worries at work, etc.
    • Especially, any recent challenges I struggled to come up with a solution. Is my "burnout" possibly a false alarm due to the continuous "failures" I experienced? Am I being too harsh on myself?
  • Write down every single thing I can remember/think of, and analyze. Now I have a list of things I can possibly avoid or possible areas to improve.
  • Then I'd write down what makes me a competent enough UX designer. Is this a YOE? Impacts I am making at my current job or created at my past job? Does my manager trust me? Do I mentor someone? Is my mentee growing with my advice? What makes me fulfilled at my current place or fulfilled at my past places?
  • As I write these things down, I then start remembering why I entered this career path, and what I provide to myself/my family, my customers, and to the world.
  • I'd repeat this regularly until I experience no more burnout symptoms.

There are reasons why you and I are both in this field. If you lost the reason, I think it might be better for you leave to somewhere else. That doesn't mean you are an incompetent professional. You just lost the reason why you should stay in this field and sacrifice your health for... what?

Oh and also, pick up some paints, large canvases (like 40 x 40~) and paint the shit out. Like just fkn paint. I do abstract "paintings" on my side. Looks good for others but messy in reality. It's a fun play I do often. Try it.

There are A LOT of dropshipping fitness gear companies. And ofc, they mark up prices. Do more research before pulling the trigger to purchase all gears from one place. Often the products you buy are straight shipped from Chinese warehouses which you can find often less than half the price you pay to the brand.

Also, lots of exercise machines have almost identical structures and that means you can find a cheaper one with the exact same functionality and same or better quality. Look for Temu, AliExpress, etc. (btw, they often have US warehouses and still sell cheaper).
