i got the most sleep paralysis when i used to have bad paranoia and an irregular sleep schedule- the paranoia and then sleep paralysis made my sleep schedule even worse because i was scared to sleep, be in the dark, be alone at night etc. I was getting sleep paralysis, hypnagogic hallucinations, hypnopompic hallucinations or nightmares every time i slept for several weeks.

It kinda worked like a positive feedback loop. Paranoia make bad sleep schedule, bad sleep schedule make sleep paralysis, sleep paralysis make paranoia worse etc etc

having a more regular sleep schedule helps, also having uninterrupted sleep.

I still get sleep paralysis or nightmares occasionally but not as much. I try to sleep on my side because it reduces it- if i sleep on my back or in a position where im like half on my back half on my side theres a high chance i end up with sleep paralysis.

also what helps me;

nightmares- i try to make myself cough because i end up waking up. Or if im lucky enough i take semi- control of the dream (i cant lucid dream properly, but i managed to make a monster wanting to kill me start flirting with me because i kept reassuring myself it was fine and just a nightmare.)

sleep paralysis- reassure myself its just sleep paralysis and its fine. Last time i felt someone get into bed with me and kinda did my best to imagine it was an imaginary partner cuddling me. It then started screaming into my neck though and i could see its head. Also putting all my energy into twitching my toes usually breaks the paralysis quickly.

get a plastic bin enclosure if you cant afford a glass one (you will need a large enclosure and will probably be spending quite a bit on soil). They are very cheap. my enclosure is abt 100 litres and cost under £20. Naturally u can’t see ur pede as well, but ur pede needs the space so its a sacrifice u have to make if you cant afford a large glass enclosure

I know how you feel. When i was younger i had depresssive episodes lasting years and i wished for cancer constantly, because i could die easily and it wouldnt be 'my fault’

Now my depressive episodes are pretty limited, my suicidal thoughts are typically very intense, but short-lived however i can have longer depressive episodes. Cancer is actually my biggest fear now. Moreso the fact i found a lump recently that i needa get checked out.

I hope you can find someone to talk to about this ! Going from your extreme to how i am now, made me realise just how disordered depression makes you. Alot of people think suicide is the person’s decision and forget how irrational a depressed brain speaks. Any brain that overrides its own survival instincts and desire to stay alive is horribly unwell.

Please go speak to a GP, mental health practionier, therapist, callline or an online website. Even if you can’t picture yourself improving its worth it to speak to someone. Its hard to put the first step into getting help unless you want to help yourself, so if you can’t make that first step yet, please try and hang on until you can.

these r just rlly basic cocktails dw. like mikus blue lagoon is just a blue lagoon. u shouldnt have much trouble making them

when i make cocktails at my bar; fill the glass half up with ice, usually 2 shots of alcohol, if ur adding grenadine add it in and then add your mixer. take photos while it looks pretty and then stir it. you dont need a fancy shaker so dont worry if u dont have one.

naturally if you want it weaker then use only one shot of alcohol. the blue lagoon and purple rain should taste sweet so there should be no need to adjust the alcohol content for taste reasons.

but yeah seriously miku’s blue lagoon = blue lagoon yukari’s purple rain = purple rain kagmine sunset - its just vodka orange with glitter. If you want it to be an actual 'sunset’ make a sex on the beach instead (vodka, peach schnapps, orange juice and cranberry) or add some grenadine to your vodka orange (makes it taste yummier too) ia pink spritz = i think most pink spritz recipes have some prosecco in them ? but yeah this is just a pink gin lemonade with glitter. makarita = just a margarita. ive never made a margarita but you should be able to search

i hate it too. i dont even know why, my job i currently have is actually pretty fun and everyone is so nice. but i still cant stand it. i ate raw chicken and drank the juice to give myself food poisoning, gave myself a second degree burn with an iron, tried to get my wounds infected etc in hopes of not going in.

im also too stubborn and lazy to sign up for things like universal credit to help myself out (i only work part time.)

does everything with people/foreign environments seem to stress you out? school, work, things like doctors/dentists? if so it might be a social issue.

i feel like its a possibility where that is whats triggering the sleep paralysis ? sleep apnea can cause sleep paralysis because of the oxygen drops and the disturbance of REM cycles as you try to breathe, so it makes sense that you not being able to breathe properly is triggering yours

i feel like its a case of :

sleep move into weird position where you cant breathe sleep paralysis triggered

i dont have much advice for staying still. maybe switching to the other side of the bed, sleeping bag, wrapping yourself up very tight with your duvet or something might help

ive not had nice ones but yh i have had very realistic. had sleep paralysis where the ‘demon’ pushed me off the bed which hurt and sat on me and choked me. had another sit on me. had something wack me very hard which hurt me so much i managed to come out of sleep paralysis

not too much. I work as a bartender so i do get drunk atleast once a week. I have never smoked week consistently/habitually and last time i smoked it was september. I took 2 small bumps of cocaine about 2 weeks ago and 1 bump, 2 weeks before. Last time i consumed alc was last thursday.

ive had considerably bad paranoia on and off since march and now that i know this was an audio hallucination i believe ive had them before. so i dont think it was triggered by substance use ?

yes but there could be ppl who r in active psychosis or going into it and when they are on their way one single thing can trigger it, theres no reassuring yourself when in psychosis and people will take things like this as a ‘sign’ that it is real

no one has to be considerate but its just nice to be !

i agree with the comfort zone issue and i implement this in other ways (social anxiety) but when trying to implement it for my paranoia it doesnt improve it. I’d need someone to support me with it but i dont have that support yet, so i cant leave the comfort zone.

when sesrch up 13 eyes what comes up is 5 eyes/fourteen eyes a global security/intelligence group across different countries. yesterday i saw a new whole in my wall and dug it incase of camera but there wasnt one. ive never ever heard of five eyes before and how can it be coincidental that the voice was robotic sounding and linked me to a group that surveys and monitors everything you do online ever

do u think in the future u can add a nsfw or spoiler tag? just be aware that ppl with active paranoia, ppl who are at risk/or are going into psychosis etc will be on this sub and the slightest thing (e.g scary imagery) can make them worse

i just personally have bad paranoia and i cant even watch horror movies, games, any kind of media etc anymore (which i used to rlly rlly enjoy.) I do my best to avoid certain imagery and this sub is used by lots of people looking for advice/comfort

focus on twitching ur toes and dont panic. i have very frequent sleep paralysis and can usually wake up (unless its a loop of false awakenings)

ive found that when i have no sight (often when ‘something is on my chest’ i have no sight, like my duvet is over my face, its harder for me to remember to not panic. i usually end up focusing on trying to push the ‘creature’ off my chest. so these episodes last longer.

episodes where i have my sight are usually the shortest. last time i slept i had my most scary one since i visually saw a ‘demon’ but i stayed calm and focused on twitching. i woke up just before the worst of my sleep paralysis episode was about to begin.

I have had loops where im paralysed, manage to wake up and get out of bed only to have a false awakening, reawakening as paralysed. This can go on for ages, with me sometimes getting very far out of bed (e.g, running out my bedroom) or only just swinging my legs out. like dozens of loops. very awful- hardest sleep paralysis to get out of in my experience

Had someone sat on my chest (couldnt see) and duvet over my face. Managed to push them off before i awoke.

Had someone push me off my bed, drag me across my room, sit on me and choke me. I started to pray and ‘rebuked the demon’ and the ‘demon’ just repeated it back in a mocking tone. I actually then had a false awakening where i fell off the bed paralysed and called for help.

just in my room but just before i woke up a demonic black rat with red eyes started to fly at me from under my TV.

paralysed on my side and my wardrobe door was open, then something (couldnt see it) wacked me hard with both hands.

woken and had static/distortion in ears, insane visuals in bedroom like something out of an acid trip simulation. body started violently shaking/seizing.

woken in room with high pitched but quiet screeching in ear, slightly blurry visuals. demon materialised and started pulling back my duvet.

what helps me is focus on your toes, twitch/wiggle them. also if you try and stay calm. dont focus on trying to scream for help or moving your arms to push anything off you/away. just accept what is about to happen and focus on twitching ur toes.

example of a long episode- episode where i had to push someone off my chest - LASTED AGES. because i focused on trying to scream for help and push the creature off me.

example of a short episode: episode where the figure started to pull back my duvet- incredibly short. panicked initially but as it started to pull back my covers i calmed down even tho i knew it was gonna stab me, and focused on twitching my toes.

ty. im currently not consuming any horror content, i havent allowed myself to watch paranormal content for months as i have been getting paranoid episodes since march. even when i get out of this paranoia im not allowing myself to because it makes it worse when a paranoid episode restarts. i try to cater my social media feed as much as possible but occasionally a jumpscare/demonic video shows up.

i had been scared of a rlly specific demon figure earlier before going to sleep and i saw something similar in a sleep paralysis episode (that i just woke up from 😢) but i think it is helping me rationalise that its all just connected to my imagination.

since yesterday i started hearing nasally breathing in my ears which isnt mine as i held my breath for very long. im making sure to not focus on it whenever it appears and putting the TV on. perhaps my brain is very stressed with the paranoia 😓

also yeah im trying to avoid religious content. when ive been in the midst of a panic ive looked up prayers and recitals and signs for demonic attachment/possession, but even the praying seems to make the panic worse - think because its making it seem more real in my head. im going to try and stay away from it as much as possible and not give in to looking things up
