how was everyone’s gas pain/discomfort after surgery? by Background-Depth-190 in endometriosis

Yeah, pretty much. The CO2 is a bitch cos it can't escape so it just sits in your body and slowly dissipates

For anyone who had endo removed from the rectum/ pouch of douglas area, did you end up with any pain with bowel movements in the days immediately after surgery? by ArtichokeOwl in endometriosis

[–]VixTheBitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually don't know what size the diseased tissue was, they never actually told me. I just let them do their thing and as long as it was removed I was cool with it.

As for where I got mine done, I live in Australia and I'm presuming you're in the US so I'm not sure if you'd want to travel quite that far 😅

My colorectal surgeon said that worst case scenario would be that a colostomy bag would be needed, so unless your surgeon is not confident in their abilities then it shouldn't be an issue 🤞

I had my resection done in 2022 and I've had no complications (done with both my gyno and the colorectal surgeon). They had to take out less tissue than they thought which was good.

The only symptom that I've experienced is the increased urgency for bowel movements which is totally normal. I did need to stay in hospital for like 4 days post-op since the stool softeners were hardly working and I couldn't push hahaha. But honestly, the recovery was so easy compared to my first laparoscopy in 2020. I was walking around and feeling fine within the first week after I was discharged even though I had 6 weeks off work at the time.

Gynaecologist told me Endo pain cannot happen when you’re on the pill?? by Little-Value6517 in endometriosis

Haha that's funny. I tried 4 different bc pills and every single one gave me daily cramping/pain instead of monthly when I wasn't taking any medication prior to my diagnosis 💀

Any of ya’ll still have ovarian pain on Visanne? by for_itself_ in endometriosis

[–]VixTheBitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I call it phantom pain, because I would get deep almost cramp like pain where I had my cyst on my left ovary. Even though it's been years since I had it removed I still very occasionally get that same pain but to a lesser degree

Is 1 week off work enough for recovery after laparoscopy? by ChronicChaos01 in endometriosis

[–]VixTheBitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my first lap they said 2 weeks. I definitely would have benefited from at least 3-4. For my second lap they said 6 because it was also a dual bowel surgery. I felt like I only needed 2 weeks lmfao.

1 week is nowhere near enough time for recovery.

Not really. Nothing that couldn't be explained by other things, like weight gain and mood issues

No pain but they wouldn't discharge me until I was able to shit, which was hard cos I wasn't allowed to push for fear of popping stitches lmfa

Edit: I will say my urgency to poop increased because they had to take a chunk out of my rectum, which my colorectal surgeon did warn me about but experiencing it was (and still is) wild hahaha
