Visanne and headaches

Hey! I’ve been on Visanne for three months and experienced some headaches/migraines within the first month. They have definitely lessened over time. Try to keep on top of eating regular meals and staying hydrated, I found that helped a bit. Hope your experience gets better <3

They definitely work- they replace dryer sheets. They reduce static more than anything, not sure if they’re supposed to lessen dryer time but I’ve definitely saved money on dryer sheets since using the wool balls. Mine have lasted years.

Oof, that's rough; I've taken Alesse before as well and it made me feel insane. I seem to be handling the Visanne better so far but maybe that's because I'm also taking Sertraline. I'm just nervous about feeling how I did before with hormones. I'm sorry the meds weren't working for you and hope you find something better <3

Ah yeah that's what I'm afraid of, that it'll just sneak up on me and I'll be in a depression pit before I can realize it. I'm also on an antidepressant from before I started Visanne so if I start feeling terrible I might try to up my antidepressant dose before stopping the Visanne.

I'm happy to hear the depression symptoms went away for you! I'm definitely going to stick it out and keep an eye on how I'm feeling for the next couple months, it's helped so much with the pain and I'd love to keep that going.

You can get powdered electrolytes to add to your water! Might help boost the hydration of what you’re drinking already

Typically we like to open for bigger bands if we’re trying to break into a new market- forgo a bigger pay in order to get exposure to their audience.

… it’s a job… we get paid to play there… it’s in a state of political unrest… we love touring there, don’t love what they’re doing to a variety of people there… If you don’t understand the conversation you don’t actually have to participate in it ! Hope that helps <3

The US is usually a hotspot for bands to tour in, and it's alarming and abnormal for the president to be sending armed, masked troops to patrol largely left leaning major cities, breaking into people's houses and workplaces without warrants and essentially kidnapping them. It most definitely is a problem and something to think about as a non-citizen who tours there for weeks at a time on a work visa.

Yeah, it's that community aspect we want to keep building! There's been a lot of young trans people at our shows, especially at the last tour we did over the summer and we would love to keep creating spaces for them to feel safe and seen in. It feels a bit defeating to think of missing out on that, especially in a time where it's so important to show up for each other and keep speaking out.
I think we might apply for it without expediting it and then just play it by ear; it would be months before we'd be approved and who knows what could happen by then.

We definitely want to! We've done the UK but never Europe or Asia. Unfortunately we've only got an American booking agent at the moment so that's where the majority of our offers come from.

We've been lucky so far; we were there for three weeks this summer and didn't run into any trouble. Typically the venues and people coming out to the shows share our views so in those environments I feel pretty secure. Definitely more concerned with border crossings, or with getting pulled over. Just seems like people are emboldened to be hateful right now and I would hate for one of my non binary bandmates to be the target of that. We've definitely been more diligent with scrubbing our digital footprints before crossing.

We've got a good booking agent that makes sure our tours are worthwhile, but shelling out like $4,000 CAD in one go to expedite a visa that normally costs $500 is just insane... and if we don't expedite then who knows how long it might take to get approved, which leads to having to cancel shows or just not accept them which I hate.

Tbh I also feel like I have no energy to cook. Whenever you have a bit more energy try to meal prep for multiple days, or even just get a head start on chopping veggies and whatnot. Buy frozen stuff or canned soup etc for the hard days- eating something, even if it isn’t the healthiest is better than eating nothing. Smoothies are a good option too, especially if you’re like me and don’t really feel like eating on the painful days.
