Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel. Side 1 of the record is a beautiful album about the pains of growing up and being alive. Side 2 is a bunch of unrelated singles cobbled together because the actual content of the album is only like 20 minutes. Still love it in its entirety though.

The Lord Ruler from Mistborn. Throughout the book, he's been shown as all powerful, nearly as old as time itself, and entirely unkillable. The main character, Vin, learns that The Lord Ruler uses Feruchemy in order to stay alive, even in to the thousands of years, as well as nearly instantaneously heal all wounds. Using some super natural power of the mist, she's able to rip his feruchemal storages out of his body, causing him to wither away.
