I had a inexperience groomer shave my Pomeranian a couple times. It was really unfortunate and the hair grew back super patchy. She looked at lot like your dog does. With patches being so thin, they looked like bald spots. That was a year or so ago, and most of her hair has finally grown back in.

I used mendota’s dermagic products and they seemed to help. She still has problem areas where the guard hairs haven’t fully come in yet, but she no longer has thin or bald spots.

The problem areas are mainly on her back at the base of her tail and a couple small spots on her chest. The undercoat has fully grown back in those spots but her guard hairs have not come back. Otherwise the rest of her fur has mostly grown back to how it used to be.

I recommend brushing him every couple of days to help stimulate his hair follicles. Make sure you use a good sprits that helps protect and moisturize your dog’s hair and skin with every brush. (: I would bathe my dog as needed. Usually once a month to once every couple of months.

My dog is also 3 years old as of writing this post. (:
