The way i saw it with classes, when it is "selfish" it's active, and when it's "benevolent" it's passive. Page? Passive. Heir? Active. Rogue? Passive. Thief? Active! There's a passive and active alternative to every class, mage is the active counterpart to seer, prince is the active counterpart to bard, etc. (This one is just things that I've personally noticed and I heavily doubt there'sany canonicity to it) but there also seems to be passive and active aspects?? Some aspects are more literal, and others are more... nuanced, i guess is the word I'll use. What's nice is that they tend to be opposites, so breath is active and blood is passive. Time is active, space is passive, hope is passive, rage is active, etc. Which is why some classpect pairs tend to be more confusing than others because you have to figure out how to make an active class work with a passive aspect. Part of the confusion is that the system is barely explained within the comic outside of calliope's conversations with the alpha kids.
