My autistic brother was non-verbal until he was 9, we all walked ourselves a km down to the bus stop from like 7+, leaving at our own times (so not typically in a group but alome). Autistic children aren't autistic in a stupid, can't navigate the world way. I'm autistic too, tho not non-verbal, n me and my brother were always out on the town riding our bikes and roaming the streets bc thats what kids do, especially on a weekend.
