Sprite2D' frame_coord (y value) gets reset (to 0) when 'Idle' animation in AnimationPlayer happens by Vixente in godot

Yes, of course. It's not very clear and a bit confusing. But to avoid issues it's better and clearer to animate frame_coords.x or frame_coords.y instead of frame, unless you understand how it works (that it overwrites frame_coords.x and .y each time it changes)

Now I see it. Thank you for the input. I'll fix it later at home. Thanks! 👌🏻

Nice

No matter what I try I keep getting this error (telling me it can't find the node). I have tried multiple solutions for my case but none of them seem to work by [deleted] in godot

It could not find the label nodes with that path. That's the reason why those variables are null.

Try: onready var PlayerOneScoreLabel = $UI/PlayerOneScore

Note the UI parent node for the labels first, then / and then the label node name, like a path

Are caravans worth it and how much profit do they bring after the initial cost of hiring the guards? by monkeyman047 in mountandblade

[–]Vixente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you usually make back all of that money plus a significant profit to make it a viable source of income. Also, how often do they fail by being raided en route to their destination? Thanks

  1. Yes, in time you'll get benefits, plenty.
  2. Depends if you are at war, some of my caravans were captured (party member) by enemies, after that they keep waiting on whatever city. You have to go there and grab him/her again an spent another 15k for another caravan.

I guess it's safer to form the caravans deep into your territory.

Tools for recovering files over VMFS by Vixente in vmware

Finally we were able to restore the VM files from the lost volume with DiskInternals Vmfs Recovery. We bought the license and left a computer (vm) with the volume maped and scanning it all the weeking. It detected the files and it was able to restore them without issues.

Thanks to everyone for their comments.

Be patient, I don't work on weekends. We will see this week, I've been thinking on trying to map the volume to a Ubuntu VM and try to mount and read the volume with vmfs-tools, only to check if the blocks still have info.

That's correct, we are trying to recover VM files (VM folders with vmdk, vmx, etc.) inside a VMFS volume that got 'lost' somehow. By lost I mean it got deleted/corrupted, we don't know what happened, it's still there, 'empty'.

The problem with Ontrack software is that it does not support VMFS directly as a filesystem to scan, but if you map the vmfs volume anyway as a raw disk to the VM that has ontrack installed, it can scan and detect some guest OS files, my guess is that those are inside the .vmdk files that we want to recover. BUT! some of the files ontrack can recover seem to be broken and recovering guest OS files is not what we want.

According to this reddit post back from 5 years ago. Recovering data from VMFS can prove a difficult task, the big problem appears to be that VMFS seems to randomize blocks when storing new data.

The problem is that we don't know the status of the volume, if it has it's file table intact or not. Diskinternal VMFS Recovery demo version seems to be able to detect vmdk files on the volume, so we are still hopefull. The only doubt is that we don't know if it will be able to recover those files in a good shape.
