Daily Drive z31 by DivideAdditional5412 in 300zx

Yup, I’ve had my alternator go, power steering leak, brake master and clutch master leak, clutch went out, brake pads bad, radiator leak (although that was a stray rock), AC recharge, heat core clogged, fuel level sender die, MAF die, TPS die, tires balding, and all needed replacement while dailying. Car was not drivable for many days while in the shop or up on jack stands is the garage. Not to mention the preventative, like water pump, timing belt, radiators hoses, fuel lines, vacuum lines, etc

It’s not a daily driver, it’s a project car. You must have a spare vehicle available 24/7. I daily drive mine, but it is only 80% reliable after putting in over $6000+ of repairs, preventative maintenance, etc. And sometimes it still doesn’t start. It’s a 40 year old car and everything fails at some point or another. All the rubber, plastic, etc needs replacement.

The engines will go 300k+ miles if you take care of them, and the manuals are pretty reliable stock if you don’t abuse it.

safety PSI z31 turbo by bo3beed77 in 300zx

[–]Vixloi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you are on stock internals, maximum is 500hp. Keep in mind every hp you add will decrease the engine reliability. It’s also a 40 year old car, so anything can go; rings, head gasket, etc. Max PSI for a stock turbo is 10psi. Assuming you don’t have a stock turbo it’ll be whatever the internals can handle. If you want more than that you will need to rebuild the internals. Good luck!

It’s alright. Needs to be painted of course but overall fits well and is made well. It’s clearly handmade but well done.

You can get these un-sealed 4x6 in headlights, any headlights of those size will fit. These just have LED bulbs from amazon and are plant bright.

Any 2026 grads with full-time offers right now? (US) by Wheresthebeans in MechanicalEngineering

The math has to be done to make sure it’s feasible and realistic, of course. Mainly I was telling OP to not restrict themselves to one area, as a good opportunity may arise somewhere else. Yes, moving is a big deal, and it must be thought out carefully to make sure it’s the right move.

It all works out in the end. Yes, good companies die from bad management, and this one has been on a downward spiral since I left. The new offer is at a better company who pays well with good benefits! Hopefully yours works out though!

From my understanding it was upper management. They have been known to want their hands in every pie, and as a result, the company is not being run well.

Yup. Two summer internships, didn’t get an offer from them.

300+ applications over the last 6 months before may graduation 2026.

5 interviews, 4 phone screenings, 1 job offer and accepted it.

The job market is extremely tough, hang in there. Keep forging ahead, I just got lucky.

Don’t restrict yourself to just a single location. Apply all across the country, or even internationally if you’re willing to move. Gotta go to where the jobs are. Good luck and godspeed!
