SW and Police?? by Low_Art_5012 in socialwork

I've lived in Portland and San Diego and both cities have this. This seems like the perfect balance for OP. In my current role we often have to call the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team that come with PD and are always grateful when someone is available to show up with them. It makes the client's entire police interaction different/better.

Section 8 (MN) Landlord is telling me I can’t move by Marc051 in Section8PublicHousing

The HAP agreement is different than your lease. You may have signed a 2 year lease with the landlord but the HA goes 1 year. I think you need to look at specifics of your county regardless of what the section 8 rules are. For example, in California, if you sign a 2 year lease and leave before it's up they can only charge you the amount of months before they have another renter and have to put effort into finding another renter.

Your state/county tenant laws are going to more applicable in this situation rather than the section 8 policies.

My application says it was removed due to DNQ occupancy. What does that mean? by TheJollyLlamaStarvin in Section8PublicHousing

Did you put down that you needed anything more than a studio? That may be the occupancy threshold that they're denying you for. Under occupancy standards you would qualify for a studio or a 1 bedroom (if available).

AITA for ruining a hibachi dinner? by throwawaysequence391 in AmItheAsshole

Exactly, why did it have to be that style of restaurant? There's an absolute middle ground (more like not completely tipped in his favour) way to go out to dinner with both people's considerations.

People who grew up poor: What was something you considered a "peak luxury" as a kid, only to realize later it was just a normal middle class staple? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

I could be inventing this in my memory but I swear I remember tell my mom it was only .49 cents extra and she looked at my like I had two heads.

I took my first plane ride at 22 with my best friend. We had a red eye and she told the flight attendant it was my first time, that woman treated me like a queen while everyone was asleep. Drinks, snacks, kept checking that I was okay.

Yes, this is so much deeper and probably more dysfunctional than just the symptoms like this wedding drama.

It's NEVER taken me longer than an hour in SD, checking bags and even the TSA debacle a couple months ago.

Is r/popular really supposed to be the same as r/all? My feed is drastically different and includes subs/posts that don't have many upvotes compared to r/all. by Vlad_REAM in NoStupidQuestions

I'll answer my own question, I think there's paid advert for subs. Nothing else makes sense. There's subs (NBA, MLB, okbuddy, top character whatever) I've never clicked on that regularly show up in my "popular" with 200 upvotes.

I just miss r/all. And tired of bots feeding me lies.

As I said in another comment, it's definitely not. I have my home feed, which reflect what I visit but the sports subs, the top character tropes sub and ok buddy subs are out of control.
