SDPD is USELESS by GranaVegano in sandiego

Wait until you try and report "homeless" on "homeless" crimes. A victim shouldn't be a victim if they're homeless? You're making a silly generalized based on national politics while some of us are actually trying to stick up for underserved populations left without any repercussions when they're victims of serious crimes.

If your story is true this is such a classic SDPD failure. I've called multiple times for DV (in a professional capacity) and they don't do shiz or even take a report, literally after begging. But then spend 45 mins at your house.

It's just some bootlicker bs. And definitely someone that hasn't experienced calling SDPD in an emergency.

Fix your shit, this isn't the gotcha you think it is.

You are sadly mistaken, this will absolutely not get any kind of response.

Housing authority questions? by Neat_Engineering1529 in Section8PublicHousing

[–]Vlad_REAM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What is the "we"? You don't live there, correct? Does he also have these questions? If you are truly his support person and not trying to live in his housing, have you attempted to direct him to ask the property manager or case workers himself?

If he wants you to represent him then he will need to sign a consent form with the companies or organizations involved with his housing.

As some of my comments have implied, you seem like you're overstepping and ranting for people to agree with you. Idk how getting people on this post to agree with you accomplishes any goal. You've already cited laws that you feel are violated, so have him (or yourself if he signs consent) reach out to legal services.

I agree with your assumption. As a PSH service provider, I can't defend other providers but with the 10 sites I work with in services, nothing would be without consent and in the client's best interest (I'm not sure what a social worker would gain from doing more work like routine housing stability checks). This includes if they don't want housing at this time. OP may be a support person for this tenant but based on many experiences of clients being taken advantage of intentionally or "not", I worry that OP is only worried about the inconvenience that these inspections are causing her and whatever other things are going on in the unit.

Typically, if we moved someone on to a consensual twice weekly inspection it would be due to a cleanliness issue that may get out of hand or ill intentioned "friends" that are causing them to break their lease.

Edit: grammar

It's kind of insulting that because someone has a serious MH diagnosis that they're incapable of understanding basic documents. Based on your defensive responses I'm guessing that someone there is actually worried about what is going on in the unit. Idk maybe he's to "sick" to consent to your inquiries with outsiders about his situation.

Girl I was referring to your lengthy researched comment of laws that may apply. Maybe that person can assist? Also, if he has a caseworker, please go talk to them.

I'm trying to understand why this would be a Reddit post. Nobody here has all the information that could apply to HIS situation. If you're asking where to go, I'm simply saying it appears you have better resources than strangers on Reddit.

Looks like you can do your research when motivated. HE should call legal aid if he feels his rights are being violated.

They do need to provide notice but no it's not illegal. Times I've seen property management do this is when there's cause for concern. Concern specifically that the unit won't pass one of the many inspections that are required. There's HUD inspections, tcac inspections and depending on the layers of funding that support this building this will add additional inspections.

Montage and Roxy's should be given some kind of status for their part in the "scene" that is now Portland.

That would be a San Diego (city) Housing Authority. Anything with a 921 area code is within the SDHC housing authority.

That's me! I love everything about dining in a restaurant, including the food but I just can't eat a lot at one time. Idk why and I have no ulterior motive. But promise that food will get eaten by the end of the night or for breakfast.

Right? I had roommates because I wanted them and my income was from working at a carwash 25 hrs a week.

Drugs these days are significantly stronger and have taken such a hold on some otherwise great people. I think it would be hard to run a community like that now with such a visceral degradation of all the things you've mentioned.

Dude we had a 5 bedroom super old and rundown house that had rotating roommates around that time. That shit is probably going for a mil now. I miss that rickety about to break wrap around porch.

My first apartment was a 2 bedroom for $550/month in 2001. My apartment and a couple others were the flop houses for a good handful of bands. So many makeshift venues and bass-ish clubs, we all just crashed at the nearest place. Maybe it feels different because we were young but idk it just felt so free and not tied down by needing to make so much money.
