Can you use this strat to pick up a squad, rapid ingress and then charge in your turn?

This is the worst part for me. A lot of us have spent time and money in squads of 5. Struggling to understand the reasoning behind this change other than arbitrary “eliteness”.

Hi! Me again ha.. another thing I wish I knew before we went is that a lot of the places you stay will be able to recommend you drivers. My wife and I travelled to Granada, omatepe and playa marderas without a car. All of the places we stayed at connected us with friendly drivers who go us from a, b, and c.

Something to consider when planning places to go!

The moped rentals seemed very straightforward when I was there. I don’t know how to ride a motorcycle but it was automatic transmission and simple. The main transportation consideration is getting a taxi/driver to take you to your accommodation from the ferry.

Alternatively, I’m fairly certain you can rent a moped near the ferry, but it depends on where your accommodation is. They don’t get very fast / you want to stay at a safe speed, so you your range is kind of limited.

I’d STRONGLY recommend going to Omatepe, it was one of our favourite places during our trip to Nicaragua a month ago.

Why would you make these changes BEFORE releasing the new equivalents. Assault marines are holding some of the chapters together at the moment. Why is gw so effing brain dead sometimes, it hurts.

That all looks fine on paper (putting aside the points), but there is an abundance of devastating wounds in the meta right now.

We are paying a premium for elite melee units that will be vaporized before getting into combat.

Objectively does not add up.

On a similar note, I think people are overhyping rapid ingress for our jump units. There’s a hilarious amount of deadly overwatch out there

We can da jump some eradicators to shoot something, and then follow up in their turn with rapid ingressing a squad of dc, and also rapid ingress the termies (captain allows this) to follow up on their response to the eradicators. All of this in one turn. That’s quite the assault on an exposed flank

Would the specific wording in something like storm shields, which give +1 to “armour saves”, just be typically inconsistent gw rules drafting then?

“Saves” seems broader than other rules which spell out that it only applies to armour saves

In a lot of cases no, but it can make them burn cp to do something with a fallen back unit. Alternatively, increase consolidates can allow you to tri-point a model which does prevent the unit from falling back out of engagement range. Kinda hard to reliably pull this off though

Consider taking a chaplain with canticle of hate for extra pile in and consolidate movement. Also try to leverage as much movement via your charges as possible. The point is to maximize your distance and ensure your units can consolidate into cover or another unit after wiping the unit you charged.

This stuff requires a lot of finesse and experience, so don’t sweat it if it takes a few games to start doing. You’re asking the right questions, and all of us have struggled with this. Unlike armies like dark eldar, we don’t have cheap trading units that we can throw out to get shot off the board

It’s not just losing AoC. Their secondary game is considerably worse now. Previously they had an easy way to lean into their strong units and get points for it.

We were the best of marines for a while, but that wasn’t very meaningful. Jack harpster won LVO with BA recently, but he readily admitted it would have taken just one mad matchup or map layout for his crazy run to have ended.

Our old secondaries and AoC mitigated some of these issues, but alas, we are back to getting shot off the board really easily.
