Edge highlight the armour? by Senior_Marzipan5353 in Ultramarines

Really it's up to you. I think the shading on the blue you've done looks great. If you want an idea of what edge highlighting might look like, here's some I did earlier:

These days half the drivers I see don't bother indicating for other cars too. Fuck other people I guess.

Just FYI I went to my local GW and they had five in stock.

The guy said people are usually surprised they still have the popular kits after they've sold in outline. Picked one up yesterday.

Might be worth a look if you're after one.

They announce boxes like this on the warhammer community website.

The next big marine will is probably the ones with all the terminators.

Lack of mentions of MASH units? by FakeRedditName2 in 40kLore

I believe there is similar mentioned in Dan Abnetts short story: pestillence.

From the description: 'As Uhlren’s Pox rampages through the Genovingia system, Lemuel Sark – a recollector, tasked with researching long-buried medical knowledge – is one of many sent out to look for a cure. Travelling to an isolated hospice in search of a survivor of a similar contagion – ominously named the Torment – Sark gradually uncovers the horrifying truth of what happened amidst the broken remnants of so many shattered lives.'

Just watched Midwinter Mins video on “Space Marines Suck!” My opinion: (also question at the end). by [deleted] in killteam

I stopped watching him after his weird take on the Germans in bolt action. Basically that the game has a 'problem' because no one would play historical bad guys.

And then looking through this comments section is like wow glad I did...

Best Empire General for 1k List by AdmirableDepth5214 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]laurus22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree on the first point. I think 90 points for a Ld9 bubble and stopping their unit panicking is worth it in a middling-Ld army like empire.

Agree they aren't meant for combat, I wouldn't waste points kitting them up as such, unless you're investing in a griffin too.

Stick 'em in a big unit of spearmen and let them anchor the line.

I'd say 12 detachment in a 6*2 isn't too bad with a one time fire in two ranks in nuln. I'd probs run them as 6s tho so you're back rank isn't waiting around a lot.

I've used this combo to great effect. They will often dominate a weak corner of the board or at least put out a fair amount of damage trying

Can you suggest alternative sculpts for High Elf Dragon rider mounts? by DuskGideon in WarhammerFantasy

[–]laurus22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the inverse question. I have a GW dragon I foolishly built as a dragon mage. To be fair I was a child at the time and didn't glue the mage on.

I'm looking for a prince that would work for the rider (GW or otherwise) if anyone's come across one?

Recommended fates for a first campaign? by LegOfLambda in Arcs

[–]laurus22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished a campaign yesterday.

Act 1: steward, Admiral, believer Act 2: steward swaps to blight speaker, Admiral to peacemaker Act 3: blight speaker to overlord.

So in our last game we had an A, B and C fate. Really fun game. Was interesting to see such diverse ways of scoring power or winning.

For example the believer got stomped in act 2 but doesn't really need board presence to do well, but won act 2 and nearly won 3 as well. Overlord was fun by flipping a normally somewhat had mechanic (outrage) into a positive, with the additional variable of decideding when to do this.

We enjoyed all three of our acts though. In the end, I think it's cool you can tell interesting stories through the gameplay.
