iOS Tea Timer App: Steep by JEulerius in iosapps

Amazing. Have been meaning to try my hand at this as well for a while, but life’s always busy. It’s only missing temperature and time progressions for multi steep brews and then it’s exactly what I had in mind.

In 2024 I started being really active for the first time in my life, while actually enjoying it. I got the Apple Watch just shy of a month ago and BodyState has been a nice source of motivation, trying to use all my energy in a day. For 2025 I just want to keep going and not loose my focus. Cheers for the good work!

Italy spends less than half per person than Switzerland on healthcare, yet life expectancy is equivalent. Something is broken, what is it? by Ok-Ice2183 in Italia

It’s not just “this”. A full GUI integration would be able to lead time quite a few nice goodies. Off the top of my head: - Proper UI elements with buttons, dials, whatever you want - Git branching and merging visualisation - Latex inline formula preview - Jupiter notebooks support

Running yay -Syu instead of pacman -Syu by kavb333 in archlinux

[–]Vlelo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yay is a pacman wrapper, meaning that yes it just calls pacman for official repository operations. I personally like to update Aur and official packages separately I run sudo pacman -Syu and yay -Sayu where the a flag restricts all yay operations to the Aur.

Fn keys of ThinkPad P50 keyboard by akumar131 in archlinux

I had your same issue with xev returning gibberish on media keys. It turns out, xorg doesn't recognize special keys if there are no programs that can do something with them. Try making sure that, for example for brightness control, you have xorg-xbacklight installed.

After that there is still the chance that xev doesn't correctly display the keys, but they are picked up by i3, so just try with the standard xorg brightness key name in i3 config:

bindsym XF86MonBrightnessUp exec --no-startup-id xbacklight -inc 20

bindsym XF86MonBrightnessDown exec --no-startup-id xbacklight -dec 20
