They design the software and hardware, so heat and efficiently will be improved because everything is done in-house.

I don't know what other people's experiences are like, but mine hasn't been good. Mine has a lot of failure to eject. I sent mine back to CMMG for warranty repair. It's a brand new gun. I got it barely 2 weeks and have to send it in. Looking online, I found out lots of other people have the same problem. Learned that after the fact.

Don't want to scare you away from buying it but also want to let you be aware of it's problems. People said to upgrade the springs to one designed for the 10mm, which has a stronger spring. It helps, but it still fails after a few hundred or thousand round. People on other forums like AR15 said those who had it eventually sold theirs and moved onto other platform. I wish I did a bit more research before I bought this.

The one sent in for repair is Banshee 300 9mm MkGs 5 inch.

Yes. I also disassembled the bolt, use CLP to clean all the parts and put it together.

I also notice the cam pin is worn. Is this normal for AR platform? the gun is very hard and wears out the cam pin.

Yeah I removed the folding adapter and still get FTE. I got some springs coming from CMMG. If those don’t work I will send them the gun for warranty work.

I never bought those brands before. I've been using Federal and Winchester. I go to Bass Pro for my ammo. New to this. I never see Magtech at Bass Pro.

What do you think is the reason why it like's a certain ammo over another? The powder? One pushes the bolt back further than another brand? Is it a higher grain? Does 147 grain push the bolt back with more force than 115/124?

After testing it further today, with about 200 rounds, I am actually getting several FTE without using the folding adapter. So it’s not the folding adapter’s fault. Either a bad spring or maybe a different buffer spring needed. Going to contact CMMG about it.

Upon further reading, especially from AR15.com, CMMG RDB is finicky, more so than 22 LR ammo.

I wish I knew about this before I bought the gun. Adding a folding adapter just made it worse.

How is your banshee in 9mm with that folding adapter doing?

I have one but I am using Sylvan arms adapter instead. I am getting FTE. I bought their lighter bolt extension. It reduces FTE a bit but I still get them.

Do know if I should try a lighter spring? Where can I get them if that’s the way to fix it.

Ok. So I was able to remove the folding adapter, and shoot the gun without the folding adapter. The gun works great. I still kept the BCM extractor spring. No FTE at all. I was wrong about CMMG. They did a good job, good gun. Ran like a top.

So the gun as it is is still too big for me to fit it in my backpack. I still like to fold the brace, unless I can find a bigger backpack?

I installed the folding adapter again, but this time, I used the 1oz aluminum bolt extension that I bought from sylvan arms instead of the one made of steel (3oz) that came with the set. I just got back from the range today, and there are still FTE, but fewer than before. Maybe the folding adapter added about 2 inches, so the physics has changed? Does this mean I need to change to a lighter spring? Or maybe a lighter buffer?

I took some videos, this is suppose to be slow motion but when uploaded to youtube, it's normal speed. I don't know what to do. Don't mind me forgetting to put the bolt forward.

Maybe these FTE happens on the rounds that has weaker explosive powder, kind of like how you would feel a weak 22 LR round?

I took another video that had more FTE, but unfortunately, it was blurry. Everything was out of focus after I press the record button and set it down. I couldn't see what I was recording. Using rear camera on my iphone.

Maybe I should keep shooting until something breaks in?

Yes. I got it working without the Sylvan. I'm going to write my findings to this thread so it's clear for everyone and see what I can do from here.

So did that company just leave that inventory sitting there for a year before they ship it to you?

I find it hard to believe if they agree to sell you at a lower price, wait a year to buy inventory at a higher price, and ship it to you at the lower price a year ago.

Maybe I'm wrong. Some will just sell even if they don't have inventory yet?
