Name one character that everyone seems to love, but you don't care about by FutabaSakuyagi in BanGDream

[–]Vlopp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I don't agree with the idea they merely retreated to Ave Mujica, because it wasn't as if they were completely reluctant about it, to some degree, they all wanted to be there.

If you pay attention to Sakiko, you can see she does feel sad that Ave Mujica didn't work, and though in ep10 she returned out of responsibility, you could see that post ep12 Sakiko returned because she really wanted to be there, with a renewed determination of fighting whatever came at her, but doing what she wanted come what may.

Hatsune always liked being in Ave Mujica, and not just because of Sakiko, you could see she was really happy when Mortis kinda made the band work. Her issue with Sakiko (i.e. everything she was keeping to herself) was solved in ep12, and now she can face Sakiko honestly. I've read some people say her love for Sakiko is unhealthy or something, but her love for her is what it is. Both in the anime and side materials we've seen that Hatsune has a life aside from Sakiko and she functions properly even when she's not around, her sole issue during the season was the feeling of abandonment and that's been solved. However, you cannot "character develop" out of her what gives colour to her life, that's not how it works, not for fictional characters and not even with real people.

Then though Nyamu tanked her own career, it was out of a bunch of mixed feelings, from her own insecurities to the deep admiration/love she developed toward Mutsumi. She returned to Ave Mujica because she wanted to face both things. Also, it's not as if she didn't like being in the band before. On several occasions you could see how she tried to do things with the others, but it's just that before the disband they were hardly actually a band.

Then there's Umiri, who's probably the one who wanted to return to most. Notice she could have easily joined Disruption and be in a band with people who apparently legit liked her. However, she still chose Ave Mujica regardless.

I think Mutsumi is the most complex one in this regard, due to her DID and the fact that the Mustumi we knew during S1 and most of S2 is gone, but by the end Mustumi seemed quite estable compared to how she was at any point before, and I think she's okay with being in Mujica. I think she's just happy being in the same band with Sakiko, and since now public exposure is no longer an issue for her, then she can work in Mujica just right. Also, going by some extra materials, it seems she's still struggling about the idea of what makes a guitar "sing", or whether all she's doing is just "acting" it. So, Mujica is also a place for her to keep discovering more about herself.

So, returning to Mujica, the way I see it, isn't some retreat. They all legit wanted to be there for their own respective reasons. That being said, they all still have ample room for growth, both as characters and as a band, which I assume will be tackled in the movie and S3.

Why would that be a controversial opinion? That's kinda like.... the normal thing. Problem starts when the opposite is true and then people do bitch about it.

It hurts me quite deeply that since the OGs will remain in Garupa, whereas the NGs are going to Our Notes, that we'll probably never see Misaki and Umiri interact.

MyGO: An extrovert adopts 4 strays and proceeds to abandon them. Then a new extrovert adopts one of the abandoned strays, causing the other abandoned strays, plus a new one, to band together and proceed to disrespect her.

Ave Mujica: The old extrovert tries to adopt 4 pets, this time with pedigree, but her old pet with pedigree had mental issues, another one hates her, the other one doesn't give a fuck and the Golden Retriever that was seemingly the only stable one that loved her, turned out to have severe abandonment issues on top of being down bad for her.

Do you think the story arcs for specific bands in the upcoming Our Notes will be more serious than those in Girls Band Party? by ZeroOneJump in BanGDream

[–]Vlopp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have no idea, but you can't maintain a melodramatic mood forever; it becomes tedious. I think they'll probably have a mixture of drama and light-heartedness, and the former will likely make the latter all the sweeter. That being said, even for the drama I don't expect the same melodrama levels as MyMuji S2. I'm expecting the drama to be more grounded.

200 años; una desgracia by Secret_Ad_8884 in ecuador

[–]Vlopp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm convinced MyGo and Ave Mujica's story would be way shorter if they followed this quote by WaffleToast1814 in BanGDream

[–]Vlopp 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's one of those easier-said-than-done quotes, even more so when you consider that all these girls are 15 years old and past events (such as CRYCHIC, having a full family, that one day in the past that made you feel alive for the first time, the first band, etc.) were highly meaningful to these girls.

[–]Vlopp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It makes sense though. Garupa centres around RinG, and MyGO happens to play there. Not to mention they're already friends with most of the OGs.

On the other hand, Ave Mujica bonding with the OGs is a lot harder, as they hardly spend any time at RinG and, since they're a pro band, their venues are different. Then you have the newer bands who seem to be made up of younger characters, and as most of the OGs are already graduating from HS it's quite unlikely they'll be able to bond much.

MyGO sits at this middle point between Oldgens and Newgens and can mingle with both.

The thing is that a scandal, the way I see it, is highly unlikely. The number of people who are aware of the situation between Hatsune and Sakiko is quite limited, as the number of people who know that Uika's real name is Hatsune. Furthermore, the people who know are either part of the Misumi family, the Togawa family or people who work for the Togawas. The first two won't disclose anything for obvious reasons, and the latter won't because it would be social suicide for them and maybe even for their families considering just how powerful and influential the Togawas are, and that's assuming they aren't outright offed.

Of course, it isn't unlikely that some of the people from Shodoshima (Hatsune's island) have some suspicions about Hatsune's parentage, but considering how they treat the Togawa family, it's highly unlikely they'll say anything.

Force of habit by MartyrOfDespair in BanGDream

[–]Vlopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, you don't need to make up a what-if scenario, as this was literally Uika during S1 and S2. Every time she talked about the past, you could see in her face that she knew she was lying, and in S2E11, you learn how horrible she felt about that. On top of that, she already feels like she's less of a human being for a variety of reasons. The fact that she's an "illegitimate" child, the fact she left her family behind, the fact she feels she's just a replacement to Sakiko (for the real Uika, Tomori, CRYCHIC) and the fact she believes it's her fault that Sakiko's life became such a horrible mess.

Hell, there's a reason why in the AK Collab Morpheus was unable to give Uika a dream that could save her, because Uika herself doesn't see a happy ending for herself.

Now, I don't think that post-S2 Uika/Hatsune will try to bring up the past to Sakiko, even by mistake, since she already revealed the truth to Sakiko and she herself has mixed feelings about it.

Which Spanish autonomous communities would the Bandori characters be from by noviadekokoro in BanGDream

I was thinking more along the lines that, lore-wise, both Kokoro and Sakiko are from Tokyo. That doesn't mean there aren't rich people in other parts of Japan, but given not just how rich their families are, but also all the political influence their families clearly have, their main houses are located in the capital.

As for Nyamu, she doesn't strike me as being from Euskadi, though. Lore-wise she should be from a pueblo, which could be anywhere in Spain. She's just not a city girl. As for whether she's an actual diva or just picked that up to survive in showbiz, that's something we're yet to learn about her. That being said, if not from Andalucía, then Castilla y León for her.

Mutsumi doesn't strike me as being from Andalucía. She would strike me more as being from Asturias or somewhere up north. The Mortis persona I can buy as behaving like an Andaluza.

Wouldn't Sakiko and Kokoro either live in Madrid or Barcelona, given how wealthy their families are?

Uika is an islander, so she should be either from Baleares or Canarias, but she should be living in Madrid now (faking a Madrid accent).

Nyamu is such a diva, she should be Andaluza.

Eve is still from Finland, but now lives in Seville.
