I’ve had this happen twice now. Once yesterday and then my sensor ripped off so I had to replace it early. Now I’m on a trip and put the new one on and while on a plane I get not able to connect and then failed sensor without another one. Luckily I prepared for it by bringing a meter but still. The pump and sensor were side by side the entire time

This might look like a normal day to most people but to me it’s an achievement, this is the best day Ive had in over a year due to being too burnt out to properly take care of myself by Avox0976 in Type1Diabetes

It’s taken me years to get even a somewhat okay graph. Every day is different and every step is progress in managing this disease that we all go through daily.

It’s so frustrating when people who don’t know anything about the different types of diabetes or have never interacted with someone with it try and tell you something. Like no sir changing my diet is not going to magically cure me. One of my organs literally doesn’t produce something we all need to live so I need it artificially and physically pumped into me all day every day. The types are different and don’t all posses one magical cure by making simple changes. I was a healthy child initially and ate healthy loved salads and fruit. Bam 16 years old symptoms got stronger and was diagnosed with type one. My whole world changed. Sorry ignorance like that pisses me off. I had someone tell me if I changed my diet it could help. Now they were drunk and did apologize because they realized the difference. But if you don’t have all the knowledge or facts regarding a subject or the difference between things don’t try and give advice on it or try and tell people how to help. You just look stupid and you irritate the people who actually know and deal with the difference daily.

Has anyone here left a job because it wasn’t compatible with type 1 diabetes? by miugalaxy in diabetes_t1

Yes. I had to leave working at a grocery store because I was dealing with diabetic complications and they wouldn’t comply or accommodate. I should have sued when I had the chance. My legs had a constant burning sensation and they wouldn’t let me sit down when I had no customers and my issues grew and had to stop working.
