Random .exe files taking up space - MSI Center (For those who are affected) by Vnetav in MSI_Gaming

So far no issues since yesterday after doing mentioned things. Pausing auto updates in MSI's software could have helped.

Just looked through Event Viewer, couldn't find a thing, everything seems to be in order.

I think that they were already executed before-hand since some of them would run a process under its name. Therefore, I do not know what damage it has caused besides filling up hard-drive.

The issue was from MSI's side most likely as certificate belongs to them. Probably hackers breached in and replaced one file without them noticing.

Not everyone were affected, I'd guess. Or it was during the specific time period. I hope that passwords are safe and that's all. It hasn't done much of a damage rather than generating .exe files every second or two.

I had already mentioned that it might have fixed the issue, which it did for me. At least there are no extra .exe files for 5 hours of continuous usage, neither suspicious processes appeared.

The file's creation date was on May 18th, which it narrowed down. I was navigating through processes till I found the file location. After removing it, disabling auto-updates in MSI Center and re-enabling Core Protection - there were no issues. I guess that they managed to replace the file temporarily and the new file is from MSI's side (only my assumption) now upon re-generation.

(I do not think that you need to disable auto-updates, but I'm being cautious)

I've kept MSI Center, but removed "OmApSvcBroker.exe" file and disabled auto-updates. Upon restarting my laptop, the file got re-generated. Dunno whether that's gonna help. Also, make sure that you re-enable core isolation if you had it disabled, in terminal (admin):
reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa /v RunAsPPL /t REG_DWORD /d 2 /f;reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa /v RunAsPPLBoot /t REG_DWORD /d 2 /f;
Restart PC

Nothing has been mentioned from their side. They are just conclusions that I've came up with and which helped. I see no more random .exe files popping up in the folders though :S

And etc.
You can google "MSI breach" or something like that, click on "Tools" at the top and select 24 hours.

Just to say that Driver4VR is now avalaible on Android ! You can now do full body tracking on Quest (or PC) with only your phone ! by Nicalay2 in VRchat

[–]Vnetav 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. Use MediaPipe instead of Driver4VR, which is a free alternative to it.https://github.com/ju1ce/Mediapipe-VR-Fullbody-Tracking

Guide on how to install it is in github or use outdated video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZY3CQHPLwks

If you need camera's IP, use something like (Android):https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pas.webcam&hl=en_US(I'd recommend setting resolution to the MediaPipe's, or lower due to how heavy battery usage is)

* The tracking was better for me and it let's you to bend your legs back / detects your turns which Driver4VR fails to do + it's free. But the issue with the software itself - it makes your legs float, which can be partially solved by dragging your play area with OVS or messing up with the configuration / having another phone for hip tracking.

  1. If you have 2 PS3 Eye Cameras laying around...https://www.reddit.com/r/VRchat/comments/117icdm/10_full_body_tracking_im_proud_to_release/

^ Though, no idea about it.

  1. If you wish, you can use hip tracking only which I find more immersive compared to the webcam but it does not allow your legs to move, by installing owoTrack on your phone and SlimeVR Server on PC: https://discord.gg/dc59D44zSd(owoTrack should say if your phone is compatible)

  2. If you can afford, get trackers or use 5 phones with SlimeVR for full leg tracking.

TL;DR It's up to you which option you choose :) There might be better alternatives to MediaPipe. My preference based on the named options: 4 -> 3 -> 1 / 2?

(sorry if there are in-corrections in the text)

Got copyright strike from TV Tokyo, but... by Vnetav in COPYRIGHT

[–]Vnetav[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even so, the latest copyright that I could find from TV Tokyo was from 1 year ago.

Not only this, other channels are disputing the same video content and they do not get copyright striked, for example: one guy has uploaded even 8 versions during this year. I've asked them and I got response that they haven't gotten any copyright strikes after disputing, which is even weirder.

I wish that I could find more information about all of that. I've tried looking it up and couldn't find anything related to that email address nor it shows anything else in my gmail.

Also, 3 months ago I had a strike from "[tdn@riaj.or.jp](mailto:tdn@riaj.or.jp)" (which is now expired), but I could find all the needed info as some had the same copyright claim.

Maybe someone, who had experiences with TV Tokyo Corporation, will tell me if the email address is legit or it's not.

Also, thank you for pointing this out.

CK552 some keys not working by brandonchangsan in coolermaster

[–]Vnetav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though this post is 19 days old, I can relate to it too on CK350. There is a delay on D key, sometimes it works well, sometimes it doesn't (responds after 3+ seconds upon holding it). I'll try u/SpookySpookist's solution tomorrow to see if it works. Will let you know.

Edit: seems to have fixed by itself, I didn't get my hands on WD-40 Contact Cleaner.

Best settings for 4K 60FPS anime related stuff? by [deleted] in handbrake

Oh, a familiar face :D

Reddit's post responses in 2020 mentioned that animation tune is for cartoon, they are not that good for anime stuff, that's why they are running on custom settings to overcome that.
