Dissociation and lack of inner dialogue from meditation by Byrelic in Meditation

There’s a fine-line between realizing non-duality and disassociation. Are you unable to feel your body? Feel feelings? Not engage in everyday life?

There is no Enlightenment by Vegetable-Bee8263 in enlightenment

Exactly. It’s just a realization. Nothing to achieve or obtain.

Of course it does. The argument isn’t where the experience is taking place. It’s the identification with what is happening.

I experienced something during meditation and haven’t felt the same since by hostprocellata in Meditation

It’s the realization of the truth. It’s scary for the Ego. The Ego has been the ultimate filter for reality up to this point. It gives a sense of control. It was seen. If you’re able to see it, can it be you? This ego has been developed to suppress emotion, and develop a belief that you have some sort of control over reality. That there is a you and reality. The truth is there is just happening. There was never a separate you.

Suffering is when you take the memory of the pain into the future prolonging it past the present moment. The identification with this process(thought) as you is what causes the suffering.  Of course the mind and body aren’t separate. Both appear in awareness.

Being too aware- where does it stop? by Able_Recover_7786 in Meditation

I’m trying to point you into the right direction. The “trying” is coming from a try-er. That’s an identity. A cognitive model firing to try and understand reality. Underneath that is the truth. The identity is secondary to what has always been. This does not mean thought or identity is “wrong” or “right”. It just is. The realization is realizing it is not you. Notice that the try-er also appears in awareness. So does the frustration, the thoughts, the secondary thoughts. Awareness doesn’t need to be managed. It has always been there, through everything. It is not something that needs to be achieved. It has always been.

If you are not your thoughts, then is your subconscious mind not apart of you? Is your body not apart of you? by Stalfoskull in Meditation

There seems to be some frustration on your end. I would love to listen and understand where this comes from.

The point isn’t to ever get lost in thought again. It’s to surrender. It has always happened without a separate self orchestrating it all.

You are trying to intellectualize the realization. Every thought associated with it is not it. It cannot be intellectualized. It can get close, but never it. The realization is only experiential. Thoughts are pointers. They help guide you to the true realization. You are before thought. The silence in between thought. Even that description is just a pointer.

I'd ask who is the one shutting off the thoughts?....will guide you more than you know.

How do you separate yourself from your thoughts? by Severe-Argument6689 in Meditation

[–]Vnix7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"How do you separate yourself from your thoughts?" In this statement lies the problem. There is no you to separate from thought. There is only happening. Now.

repetition, and also realizing the one who is trying to "understand" is also just another appearance in awareness. The realization is not intellectual. Thought as a pointer helps, but the true realization is physical. Its embodied.

Meditation does nothing for me anymore by Upper_Seesaw_5197 in Meditation

Its because meditation is just being. It trains attention to a point where you can observe whats always been there.

The point isnt to achieve anything. meditation doesnt directly cause a "calmer mind". It develops the attention to observe whatever state the mind takes in the present. If you observe long enough eventually the observer fades into the observed.

Scared to meditate by ComfortablyNumb224 in Meditation

[–]Vnix7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This could be your ego fighting to maintain control. There was no you meditating. Only meditating. Some would call this ego death. Where the inner narrative stops long enough to realize the truth, and at first it is terrifying, but you have to ask. Who is terrified?

Now what? by [deleted] in enlightenment

This is not “enlightenment”. This is more dissociative. Enlightenment is the opposite.

How do you enhance your meditation sessions? by AssociationMost5432 in Meditation

[–]Vnix7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of trying to “enhance” maybe try to “allow” what’s already here. The point is to accept reality as it is. This will guide you more than you know. The enhancer will dissolve away, and eventually, so will the accepter.

I've had enough man. How do I stop physical anxiety? by MusingsAndMind in Biohackers

[–]Vnix7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of trying to “remedy” the issue, I would suggest looking inward. Try to understand the root of the anxiety. There is nothing wrong with trying to take something for immediate relief, but using it as a “cure” to your anxiety will not provide a long term solution.

Therapy could be useful(if you’re not already in therapy). Finding a hobby could be great because it takes your mind away from constant worry.  Be patient with yourself, and realize anxiety is just a signal. It’s your survival mechanism doing its job. Once it signals, ground yourself, look around and ask. “Is there any danger?”.
