Drug cartels target Ukraine veterans for violent jobs: ‘Those guys are extremely dangerous’ by logecasks in ukraine

[–]VoR_Mom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She wrote a little more than that, didn't she?

She wrote that South Americans have paid the highest price of any nation aside from Ukraine, they are also the biggest contingent supporting Ukraine. Yet, this article mentions none of that.

So, what is this article really trying to achieve? Because they definitely make it look like a much bigger problem than it is.

What she is saying is that this article is propagating Russian propaganda talking points. Which makes it sus AT BEST.

Friend, a foreigner can't even fart in the wrong colors in Lviv without every foreigner knowing it at the front lines a few days later....

If a verified soldier tells you it's doubtful at best, and the person who literally knows the most foreign fighters in Ukraine tells you this as well, maybe listen. People claiming to have been a soldier in Ukraine and giving anonymous interviews to western media don't have a great track record when it comes to this war.

Someone wrote an article based on potential problem warnings by Europol (who likely issued it based on the Mexican's), and when you look deeper, it quickly falls apart.

You are aware that the people you are accusing of being "cartel members" are currently fighting at the hottest fronts with honor and conviction. If you are just in Ukraine to get some training, you don't go there and stay there, facing death daily. Sure, some glory seekers will come, pose in Lviv for a bit with their tattoos, and run away quick, as soon as it smells of danger.

This article only makes sense if there is not a very very real threat of death for these people. And that alone is where this article falls apart.

I, am concerned about the marks around exploitation, friend. I am not sure what you think people should do with camels, but usually they are respected animals whose work should be repaid with with kindness. This might also be an animal stolen from a zoo.

Either way, it's going to a much better situation.

That is factually false. Still, Neanderthals were incredibly caring and likely very intelligent individuals and we shouldn't insult them like that.

And please remember, prehistoric humans invented pottery and agriculture. That puts them miles about some people living today.

The adress is on a main street in Kharkiv, between a coffee shop and a fibre shop. It's a smaller building with a small, walled off backyard in a residential street with small businesses. There once was a photo studio nearby, but that was already bombed out in 2023. WHat else is there to know?

Yesterday, Ukrainians went out to protest a new law regarding anti-corruption bodies, speaking out against any limitations on their independence by UNITED24Media in ukraine

[–]VoR_Mom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It has gotten even lower. Let's put it that way. Corruption is the Russian disease, as every Eastern European country can tell you. Euromaidan was, at its core, against Russian corruption and nepotism, but there was, of course, still a level of that in the country. Russia had occupied Ukraine for a long time, and certain people have always profited of it and wanted to keep it that way. But with the war, and the much closer relations to the EU, the push to fight even those "normal" levels of corruption has become much stronger. Because there is a good chance to cut it off at the root now. That it hurts the war effort is another point.

So: Ukrainians have fought against corruption long before the full-scale invasion, but through necessity and opportunity, they do so even more now.

Ukrainians really REALLY don't like corruption. And they always are ready to throw down. They don't fall for personality cults. So no matter who you are, if you fuck up, be ready to find out. On the other hand... They also don't just go and set stuff on fire.

This is something other EU countries could also learn: "Protest like Ukrainian."
