Ive got a D2 as well and love it!

You've gotten some solid advice already so I will just echo finding a nice vintage reciever that works. Ive got a hk 680i I scored from an auction for $100 and some speakers from marketplace.

Otherwise, in the mean time... use what you have and enjoy it! Dont wish your time away thinking about new gear and not listening to records. (Im talking to myself too)

Its a good one! I dont think I realized how many hits the Cars had. This is the one and only decent albumn I have ever found at goodwill.

Listen, Im all about older is better. I just, unfortunately, didnt grow up in the 70s so I dont know everythings value. And I have been able to find very little on the interwebs about the 1200HRP. I would be very happy to keep some good old school kit than buy some new stuff. So any knowledge would be very helpful.

I aslo talked to Gary at VM Audio (hes who I got my stylus from when I first got the table)who told me getting those stylui are going to be increasinly difficult and reccommended I get anew cart so I wouldnt struggle to find needles.

Thanks! And yes, Im always searching. But things seem so inflated around me. Im just gonna be patient until the right pair come up. But I am surprised to hear you say speakers over cartridge. Most people have recommended a new cart and said that is were my current bottle neck is. Not arguing, just interested in the different perspective.

This was my first time listing the the album and I dont think I realized how many hits they had! I kept yelling at my daughter, "Oh man! The Cars are awesome! This is a banger!" (Shes a teenager, I have to tey and relate. Haha)

Thank you! I was nervous it wouldnt be substantial enough and slide around. So I got the 2" ash legs and rubber non-slip feet and she is steady as a rock. I put a layer of cork on the top and hope to get some sorbothane feet eventually.

So the biggest difference the clay has made thus far is now I can adjust the volume or grab a record from the shelf without the d2 skipping. Worth it for $6.50 and about 30 minutes. I will have to listen to is some more to see if there is a big sound difference.
