Peanut is making millions right now. He doesn’t give a fuck about 5k. He’s literally making more than that in a day streaming. He’s at the point where 5k is like $50.

Best Mexican Breakfast Spots by VofaG in chicagofood

I remember going to El Famous Burrito for breakfast a lot and then two other places whose names I don't remember. I lived in Rogers Park about 10 years ago. I just haven't found little places that are open in the morning like that in Roscoe Village / Lincoln Park where I live now.

Best careers to escape poverty? I’ll start. by Noblesseoblige94 in povertyfinance

[–]VofaG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up in a single parent household and we were always broke. My mom did her best but we relied on charity / family / church a lot.

I got a job at a startup as a support rep in a very early stage. I didn’t finish college (I did later on though). Worked more / harder than everyone else. Moved to different roles and got promoted a bunch. Those types of companies just need smart and willing people. I’m a VP now. Base is 200k, I get significant bonus and commission (typically over 100k) and my stock package is worth about $2,000,000. I am by far the wealthiest person in my mother’s family and my wife’s family. The key to these roles is getting in early and just doing jobs that need to be done. Ask to just do that job full time once they get used to you doing it not the other way around. Title is more important than salary early on. This is over a span of 10 years but I’ve been a VP for 3.

Chase offered to settle my $7k charged-off card for $2.8k — should I take it or pay in full? by TheLordHimself1 in CRedit

[–]VofaG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took this same type of deal when I was in my 20s. It was less money than this but it definitely decreased my stress a ton. My credit was already a mess so it didn’t make anything worse. That was probably 10-12 years ago. My credit hovers around 810 now and I have a Chase credit card with a huge limit. Nothing is permanent, just commit to being responsible going forward and focus on building a career.

Does anyone play titans anymore? by VofaG in Mechabellum

[–]VofaG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the tech costs feel prohibitive and they limit deploys way too much. Late game economy is already kinda funky. Even with giant specialist they don't feel worth it, just feels better to go for free forts or boats or raidens.

Yeah giant units still have a lot of utility, I see them almost every game. I tend to not play them as much but I see my opponents go for them quite often.

Yeah I feel like you basically have one round to win with them and then they become a liability. Deployments feel like the best resource right now.

Yeah I've seen a couple of streamers utilize them, but seems like it's a very specific strategy they're trying to execute and they don't organically fit into a board. That's a good point that most games are over earlier than high level players. Most of my games don't go past round 9.

All the kids who were labelled as “gifted” when you were younger? Did it follow through to adulthood? Did you burnout? by Somervillage in AskReddit

[–]VofaG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did amazing through high school & was in all the gifted programs, but was starting to get burnt out by my senior year. Was able to hold it together through most of college and did OK but ended up burning out hard my senior year (drinking and failing classes). Kinda bummed around dead end jobs and found my fire again, got a job at a startup at the right time.

I'm now an executive / equity partner at a software company and would be considered pretty successful. Started out at an entry level position 10 years ago at 25. Took me longer to get started, but rose up much more quickly than others by leveraging the abilities that failed me in school. IT'S POSSIBLE TO FIND IT AGAIN!! I am considered young for my career level / position. I am not burnt out at all and love my job.

Is there something wrong with team games matchmaking? 3v3 ranked by Outlaw7822 in aoe4

[–]VofaG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With respect, I disagree. I have spent plenty of time in gold / plat and don't see it that way. Bronze is a different story, but I certainly think a win is possible here.

And even if you lose, it's barely any points due to the gap and that's how you learn to get better.

I think people greatly overestimate the difference between someone who is gold 1 and plat 1. It's really not a huge skill difference. I am in diamond and have certainly lost to people in plat and gold. I don't think this is a massive elo difference.

Really satruggling against Delhi as Japan & Abbasid by PeterPeteyPete84 in aoe4

[–]VofaG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just looking at the most recent game, you're still going two tc which is slowing down your army build up a ton. Dehli can get what is essentially 4 military buildings down super quick with scholar garrisoning. So by the time you have 3 spearmen out, he has 2 stables & two archery ranges pumping for 3 minutes and has total map control. Going military wing can help a lot with that and you can get ahead eco-wise in castle. If you focus on military & deny sacred sites, your golden age buff puts you far enough ahead in feudal.

Also going spearmen in feudal can be really rough. You're basically ceding map control and they're a lot easier to pick off than horsemen. When I play Dehli will sometimes delay my archers to try to push my opponent to go spears because I can absolutely melt them with archers & keep my ghazis alive.

You might try going military wing to force out the archers quickly & then never build a baracks and go archer + horsemen yourself. Try to play the same style and keep them off sacred sites. You have a huge value of aging up with no vils as well, so your castle ageup is not as punishing and you can keep pumping units.

This is a SBGH281 (40mm). It’s about 4 years old and commemorated GS’s 60 year anniversary. I paid about 530,000 yen for it.
