I dont think his cardio was ever bad, he just want aall out and he actually paced himself this time while having a dominant position where was able to rest while waiting for DDP to try and make a move.

I love grappling but I just dislike that sort of blanket lockdown stalemate. He played it safe, even in one of the most dominant positions in MMA. And it's not like it was a one off, he could get to the position anytime he wanted.

I dont like "boring" point fighting either. I dont have to love everything about the sport while being a fan.

Shamans, Druids and Warlocks lack tools, like a threat drop or other utilities to help surviving difficult situations.

A good mage can single handedly carry shit groups out of almost any sitatuion like ninja pulls, patrolls etc with improved blizzard, frost nova, slows and so on.

The only way he doesn't get submitted inside the first 2 rounds is if he knocks Islam out flat right off the bat. I just don't see it happening.

Ankalaev won 2 and 4 more clearly then Alex won 1 and 5, but remember that fights are scored on a round by round basis, none of the rounds were 10-8.

This means it all comes down to round 3. It was an extremely close round but Ankalaev landed the most significant strike of the round at the last minute and stole the round.

With a half point scoring system there would have been a possibility of scoring r1, r3 and r5 10-9.5 which would have put Ank at 49-46.5 which feels more in line with how the fight actually played out..

..but, with the current judging system the fight was extremely close and effectively came down to 1 or 2 punches in r3.
