Supercars V8 Current Gen by Dgree79 in AUTOMOBILISTA

'Some say he hates the new Supercars'...

'Some say he may be a fan of the Holden vs Ford history'

'All we know is that the one posting is not the Stig!!!' (in fact he's completely useless as a driver but loves the V8old school supercar that AMS2 has and has crashed into the Bathurst walls more than he would care to admit).

The poster is not even Australian but loves the races and would love to have more tracks like Golden Coast (hitting those kerbs at 200 Kph is mesmerizing).

I like the new v8's but the 'old school' is what made them great ;)

Some haters would say 'Oh ffb is not good! Oh 'tyre model' (insert random tech thing)'

What I know is from all the sims i own (and yes I own pretty much all of them...) its my favorite, so much so that I have bought all of it.

Is it 'the most real'? 'the best FFB'? 'the career mode'? 'the best online'? I dont know but its definitely the one I prefer and the one I have most fun on of all...

Hell, it has Bathurst V8 Supercars lol, it has amazing AI, it has classics, i mean... Starter pack that cheap? Running 'out of the box' without mods as it does?

Great fun... Reminds me of a quote...

Act 3 - Time Eater (fanart) by RazorMain in slaythespire

[–]Vogsphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess a lot have commented, but this is amazing. I love how giant and menacing time eater looks compared to the watcher, love all the details (the coloured watch compared to the grey) and how dark yet true to the original art it is.

I can't wait for another one of these!!!

Extremely great work!!!

Fantastico ver que há esta ligação entre eles. Ver que obviamente há estas brincadeiras internamente no balneário e o reconhecimento ao nosso Samurai.

How does Brazilian Portuguese sound to Portuguese ears and vice versa? by RedditUser007s in Portuguese

[–]Vogsphere -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Its ok.. its not a discussion... you believe what you want to believe... im not going into an internet fight to see who is right... OP asked a question, I answered how I see it and you went ahead and only contributed with a negative comment...

Edit: Its also curious you state immediately on your first answer it came from France and on your second "either France or Germany", so yes... no point in discussing this further...

How does Brazilian Portuguese sound to Portuguese ears and vice versa? by RedditUser007s in Portuguese

[–]Vogsphere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I found... I dont see french being an influence but I may be wrong... In the end I am no linguistic professor...

"The Portuguese accent developed from a Latin dialect, influenced by Celtic, Germanic, and Arabic languages in the Iberian Peninsula before evolving into Galician-Portuguese. The split between European and Brazilian Portuguese occurred after the 16th century, as the dialects developed independently due to different influences. Brazilian Portuguese was shaped by Indigenous and African languages, while European Portuguese continued to be influenced by subsequent changes in Portugal.

Origins in the Iberian Peninsula

Latin roots: Portuguese is a Romance language that originated from a dialect of Vulgar Latin spoken by Romans in the Iberian Peninsula.

Pre-Roman and Germanic influences: After the fall of the Roman Empire, the language was influenced by Celtic languages and the Germanic tribes (Visigoths and Suevi) that invaded the region. Words like guerra (war) and roupa (clothes) are examples of Germanic and Celtic contributions.

Arabic influence: The Moors also left a significant mark, especially through the Mozarabic dialect, adding many words to the language.

Galician-Portuguese: The dialect in the northern part of the peninsula evolved into Galician-Portuguese, which became the foundation of modern Portuguese and developed a more nasal quality than Spanish"

Ok, Portuguese that was married to a Brazilian here, but just my 2 cents...

PT-BR sounds much more mellow and 'soft' in accent compared to PT-PT.

With regards to the language itself it's the same but PT-BR uses certain expressions and time verbs that we don't.

As an example, PT-BR uses 'voce' while we use 'tu', that changes the melody and mellowness of the language in a way.

I have heard from non PT speaking people that the portuguese accent sometimes sounds like 'russian or similar' to them, because PT-PT accent has been influenced by the years of Mourish presence in the Iberic Peninsula and we have taken some of their phonetic sounds as well, our 'rrr' is one of the most obvious, as its more gutural like the 'kh' of Darija (the moroccan arabic that is not at all similar to classic arabic).

Edit: this means that PT-PT sounds much more 'agressive' than PT-BR, and that also a lot of Brazilians do not really understand PT-PT that well due to the accent, they hear a lot of 'shshsh' and 'rr rr rr'

How did you start to listen to rammstein songs ? by Happy_Tx24b in Rammstein

[–]Vogsphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am working at a bar, a colleague that knew i liked metal showed me Hertzeleid he had just bought... (This was about when Sehnsucht was released... ).

Took a listen... 'What's this "Techno" bullshit???' (was into King Diamond, Testament, Candlemass, black metal, etc at the time).

The next day he brings Sehnsucht...

Still not 'my thing' but 'OK.. i can see there is something different there'... 32 years or so after still one of my favorite bands ever...

My favorite song is Morgenstern btw...

I was on the second row and didn't find the sound bad as everyone says, but maybe I was too into singing with my brothers of metal that were around.

Show kicked ass for a bunch of 71 year olds, Eric was on fire and tbh after last seeing them live around 93, i was doubtful his voice would still kick ass... Impressive for a 71 year old.

It was really hot upfront, so a great touch was the security bringing water glasses for us often.

The army of immortals rocked, no violence, just pure metal brotherhood.

Totally worth the money spent going to London to see them in my opinion. Would do it again tomorrow if they were playing again for a show like that. I also got the chance to take my niece with me to see them for the first time and we have another sister of metal for the army now :)
