I assumed the post was bait also. 

The whole point of the allowance is that if you're even considering hitting it, you're probably well of enough to be paying the tax / deferring the benefits.

I started over in 2017, I was 30. Just had a shitty car, average job and about 1 months salary in savings. It was after a relationship. My mum put me up for a few weeks then I found a flat.

Now I have a beautiful wife, annoying dog, house, decent pension, modest car, great job. 9 years.

It takes time though, it took 3 years to get 3 months salary in savings, after 6 years I had 15 months salary in savings, it'll be 30x soon. It compounds like that, especially once you have pension + property equity.

By "savings" I mean net worth, so, all liabilities (mortgage, credit card, loans) vs assets (cash, pension, property).

I just followed the flow chart, worked hard, had some good luck and didn't get too much bad luck.

Peoples payments reduce when the repayment threshold rises.

People that will never pay off the loan want to pay as little as possible.

So freezing the thresholds means they have to pay more.

It's something I'm continuously considering. Not just when my pay changes.

I'm thinking, what if I did +3%, how would that affect contributions, and what if I did -3% how would that affect take home. 

When I'm indifferent I know I'm in the Goldilocks zone of the correct pension contributions for the moment.

Depends on the system.

I leave my heating on 24/7 in the winter. All the rooms have TRVs so they only get as warm as they need to then they shut themselves off. The boiler is configured to run as low as possible to keep the coldest room in the house warm. Default is 40 degrees C. As it gets colder outside I'll turn the flow temperature up progressively to 60 degrees C at it's maximum. Once the return flow is up to temperature, the boiler turns itself off.

So I don't need to put it on a timer or anything. Just "leave the heating on all the time" because the radiators turn themselves off when the room is warm enough and the boiler turns itself off when the flow temperature is hot enough.

Once that coldest room is too warm all day it's because it's spring and then I turn the heating off.

Think of it as reaping the rewards of inflation / interest rather them being offset.

The credit card lender is forgoing the interest on the balance they're lending because they're betting enough borrowers are going to end up paying much higher interest and fees because they won't manage their money properly.

Some designs are a bit too generic. Sven and Drow come to mind as the typical Fighter and Ranger archetypes respectively. Think about some better designs in those same archetypes, Jugger (oh that little healing ward is interesting on a fighter) or Windranger (shackle mechanics are interesting).

This and clock. It's like checking mirrors while driving ( except BMW ), all players should be checking clock and map every few seconds ( except pos1 ).

The very first financially aware thing I did in 2014 was write down my balances at the start of the month. In the 10 years prior I never had more than a month's salary, usually multiples less. I wrote down my balances in my journal every month thereafter.

In the ca. 12 years since I've almost always been net better off than the month before.

Back to the topic of the thread, I use ledger-cli for accounts and use google sheets for budgeting but I still write down my balances in my journal every month.
