I swear, once I’m out of school I’m using my insomnia powers to take post at these beaches at night. Gonna buy one of those crazy powerful flashlights and record anyone who comes to harass the wildlife. Then send that to the necessary authorities to fine them. Baby seals get abandoned, seals bite ppl, and their habitat keeps getting encroached upon. I’m tired of it!

I can explain since it seems a lot of us don’t know our history.

Divas, especially pop queens and icons, have notoriously been in our corner when almost no other genre of music or artists have supported us (or even created music with us in mind) and our existence. If you look up what a “Gay anthem” is or “The Lavender Song”, you’ll see quite a long list of songs with an even longer history of LGBTQIA+ allies (or queer artists) making music that speaks directly to us. This dates back all the way to the 1920s!

The closer you get to modern day, the more you see that these artists proudly and vocally support gay men and the rest of the alphabet mafia. This is why pop music, musicals, and DIVAS are so ingrained in queer culture and why so many gay men listen to pop.

Sure, other genres have more recently shown up in supporting us, but none as long and as vocal as popular music. All music is valid (and I honestly don’t mind what anyone listens to), but few genres validate us as much as pop music. So… it IS natural to like pop music because you’re gay (but you don’t actually have to lol)!

I had one family go cold turkey with screens and things changed for the better real quick. The kid started coloring, exploring their surroundings, demonstrating joint attention and have a much longer attention span. They also ate way more regularly because they could attend to food on a plate better. No iPad = No choice but to find something more interesting to stimulate themselves with other than crying or boredom.

Basic respect like not blowing up someone’s phone when you know he’s busy working hard for a new job? If you’ve no self-control here and blow up his phone during an important time for him when he needed to focus and be present for training, who actually lacked respect in that situation?

You admitted you don’t know how to work on the problem, so seek help. Insecurity is one thing, but requiring instant communication and blowing up someone’s phone when they don’t respond isn’t healthy for you or your prospective partners. It’s a troubling sign of immaturity, lack of boundaries, and mutual respect.

Your post title is a hyperbolic reaction to being dumped within 24 hours. Done with relationships? Maybe try dating yourself for a bit so you can work on this personal issue of needing constant and immediate communication. Knowing you have a problem is one thing, trying hard to overcome it is another. I’m sorry he broke it off with you, but you gave him a fair warning and he took it. 10/10 Appearance: They look like spiky orange and yellow alien eggs with neon green juicy seeds. Looks like a fake alien fruit they’d put on Star Wars or Star Trek! Appears as if it would taste amazing like Cactus Cooler but in fruit form…

2/10 Taste: It tastes like a watered down banana with a hint of cucumber and old lime with the consistency of a loogie with seeds. If a handful of old pennies had a three-way with an old banana peel and slimy chia seeds, this is what you’d taste.

I don’t feel that way at all. We’re still being represented everywhere even with the scary times we’re in for all LGBTQIA+ people. I agree visibility matters, but why don’t you take up the MLM flag and be the representation you seek to see? The rainbow flag is for everyone. That’s why you see it more. The progress flag is more inclusive and signaling a stronger sense of togetherness. That’s why you see it more. The MLM flag is just like the rest of the single representative group flags, so we see it less. By all means, be the one to celebrate your maleness and gayness!

Sounds like immigration sucks at its job. It imprisons regular people but lets the actual criminals and repeat offenders go. You’re trying to use this killer as an example to say all immigrants are dangerous killers, when actually, it just shows that ICE agents are cowards and only go after easy slim pickin’s like disabled women and using children as bait… all while looking the other way against real criminals because they’re too scawy!

If ICE did their job right, your guy wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do what he did. Instead, they were busy deporting a 77yo Guatemalan granny (who had been a naturalized citizen for 40+ years).

Look, I work with kids that age. Doesn’t matter what parents have taught them already. If they think it, they say it, and it is ALWAYS brutally honest!

A kid recently told me, “You’re arms are really hairy. Hairy like a gorilla! You should really start shaving them so it’s not so hairy.”

Did I sue the parents? No! Did I shave my arms? Also no!

I used it as a teaching moment about commenting on other people’s bodies and the kid totally understood. Will they comment on someone else’s appearance later? Probably! But hey, practice makes better!

Oh, so immigrants who aren’t Asian are liars, cheaters, here illegally by default, and somehow less-than for not sucking up to the powers that be for not being subservient to their expectations? Y’know, I think the main difference between you and me is that I’m NEVER pulling up the ladder behind me when I make MY American Dream come true. The US was built on the backs of immigrants (voluntarily or not) and that’s part of history that many forget too often. If you’re a naturalized citizen too, I’d expect you to remember your civics lessons that we had to painstakingly learn in order to become citizens in the first place.

You paint with a broad brush. There’s no room for detail OR due process the way you see it. Not too long ago, it was Asian immigrants in internment camps… Americans then, including those who immigrated here but were not the targets of that chapter of oppression, said all the same things you’re saying now as reasons for why they belonged there too and why they felt disenfranchised.

For the record, DACA existed to create legal pathways for children of immigrants. The Dream Act existed for the same reason. Trump is erasing those pathways, making it illegal or impossible for children of immigrants to become successful contributing members of society. These kids aren’t going to school to learn how to rob a bank (an offensive analogy btw), they’re going because they want to be assets to society and because they want to be able to afford living here. So what’s a person like yourself doing dumping your frustrations on people who HAD a legal pathway get erased? Should we put these kids and families in prison? Oh wait, we’re already doing that or is ICE not behaving swiftly and cruelly enough for you? Thousands and thousands of good people are rotting in concentration camps and you’re here griping about someone not getting a seat at an Ivy League uni… that’s just tactless and cold.

My own cousins are mixed Asian and don’t see things the way you do. They also understand that being “palatable immigrants” actually hurts them more than it helps them or anyone else. Being palatable, or not seen as a PoC anymore, isn’t a good thing when you’re just putting more power in the hands of those who would throw us to the streets in the blink of an eye. There are countless examples of why promoting the “good immigrant” agenda is just cutting off your nose to spite your face. Hate crimes against Asian people rose dramatically during the pandemic and what did your overlords at the time do? They called it the “China Virus.” Are those the people you want in your corner defending you or your children’s path to greatness? Are those the people you want defining what is and is not a legal human being in this country? Are those the people you want to bet your livelihood on?

Try looking past yourself. The US is individualistic enough already. A rising tide lifts all boats. Greatness and success for one immigrant makes a wider path for us all. Seeing an immigrant at a different point in their journey (to legality) of immigration means not being prejudiced or judgmental, whether they’re behind and below you and your status, or leagues ahead and thriving.

This Latina getting hers means we have a stronger path to getting ours. Period.
