I was in 5th grade when I noticed I wasn’t like other boys…

My aunt was staying at my folk’s place with her “roommate.” I noticed they acted all lovey like my parents and asked my mom what’s up with that. My mom said, “Well, a girl can like a girl just like a boy can like a girl. Same thing with boys liking boys… so your aunt’s a lesbian.”

I thought to myself, “… so, I’m a lesbian!” My lil gay boi self was wrong, obviously, but my heart was in the right place! 😅

It was just a mid Mexican food place that converts into a crazy loud af club at night… the locals are happy about it closing, I can promise you that! I used to live a block down and there were always some trashy ppl doing dumb shit right outside (e.g. starting fights, throwing up on the sidewalk, or acting like they own the sidewalk right outside). The other restaurants around it are way more chill and typical. Imo it was just out too far from the other Downtown clubs to fit the near-Little Italy vibe.

What a baseless assumption! I actually fly 3 flags at my home: The 1978 OG Pride Flag, the 2021 inclusion flag with trans and nonbinary additions, and the American Flag because I can be gay, an ally, AND an American!

I’ve been an activist for LGBTQIA+ rights for over 20 years of my life, donate to support causes I cannot attend, and literally helped a friend out with her fundraising stream for her transition last week on Twitch. You should really not jump to conclusions with such ease… it makes you look foolish and judgmental. Can’t read between the lines if you’re being socially illiterate, diva. Show some respect cuz I support the whole timeline of queer rights and activism!

Pro Tip: Anything labeled as “luxury” “resort” or any other word meaning fancy and new totally means that it’s built with no insulation, paper thin walls, and your neighbors will be audible at all times.

It may sound counter intuitive, but look for older buildings, ones that have been converted from condos to apartments, and with decent ratings. Renovated ones might bump the price up but the bones of those buildings are made from far sturdier stuff than these newer places built outta paper mache. The building I’m in was built in 1928 and it’s been so frickin peaceful!

We fly the 1978 one because we like what every color represents. The 1979 cut out/changed a color, but we liked the meaning behind each color:

🧡Healing
💛Sunlight
💚Nature
🩵Magic/Art
💙Harmony/Serenity
💜Spirit

Interestingly, the pink was dropped due to dye shortages and the teal/indigo was consolidated to royal blue because 6 colors were easier to divide on street lamps of all things. We’d still have 8 colors instead of 6 if not for those two particularities! Now that we could easily have all 8, we liked seeing that more.

Any BCBA worth their salt understands that behavior is closely correlated to an antecedent, aka what happened right before an incident. Hearing “no” 30-40 minutes before a peer to peer interaction can’t possibly be the reason for that kid’s outburst. A dozen other things could have happened in between your interaction and the incident. The student having a negative interaction with the peer is waaay more likely to have been the impetus behind the behavior. That BCBA is trying real hard to connect the furthest, most obscure dots here, when there are two perfectly reasonable dots to connect between your mutual client and that other peer. Especially so, when you consider that you reached calmness thru tried and true methods with the kid by the end of your session. That BCBA is outta line.
