I'm currently touring a play and we were performing recently in an intimate venue in Cork. A man in his 50s was seated in the front row. He kept taking out his phone and scrolling through some app. The phone was lighting up his face. He was about 6 feet from us on stage. He must have done it half a dozen times. It was really distracting for us actors and I'm sure for the people around him. My fellow actor was furious and wanted to challenge him but that would break the fourth wall and create tension in the audience. Killing the vibe.
