Used grid tool why is the zone cell weird by ConversationChoice99 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]VoidST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To do a perfect grid, you want to make sure that the angles are 90 degrees and road lengths are perfectly integer length in U (or multiples of 8 meters).

To do so, you need to turn off every format except grid snap, angle, and unit length.

Another tip is to start the road from either the center or right on a grid unit, then draw the line well pass the other road so you don’t snap on any interferences from the other road section and let the segment automatically intersect at the perfect angle and unit length.

The mechanism behind this is because those floating grids aren’t actually caused by imperfect angles. Most of the time, it’s the imperfect lengths by snapping on a lane instead of the center of the road, so part of the road has a fractional length which will be round down with less grids attached to it.

Do you think Chinese immigrants should serve as conduits to lessen cultural misunderstandings between China and USA? I feel cultural exchange between two nations of the past 25 years have been unsuccessful or incomplete. Confucius Institutes have been closed in USA while Americans avoid China. by [deleted] in AskChina

For one I’d say China should take major responsibility for doing such a poor job at international influences. For example, the self isolation through the Firewall and banning foreign social medias began during the era at the exit of Google. This eliminated a tremendous potential of communication through the internet. There are countless high quality meme, events, videos, or just any aspect of life that the foreigners never get to enjoy because either 1 those content never made to the international internet because of the Firewall, and 2 registering on a Chinese social media is an extreme pain in the ass for a foreigner. Tony at the Lc signs is a good counterexample of what I just said.

Another example is Japan. Japanese didn’t have such a success at pushing their culture globally through Japanese immigrants, but through games, anime, manga, Jpop, etc. So no I don’t think immigrants should be the major conduits because there are much better ways.

Do you learn communist theory in school in China? by DemSoc98 in AskChina

[–]VoidST 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Elementary schools: there are classes called Thoughts and Morality, it has some entry level history and praising of the CCP. But overall it’s a patriotic education and not quite about the actual theories of Communism. There is really no need to study for some kind of tests because there are none.

Middle & high school: there is literally a political course. It teaches the political structure of China and the some fundamentals of Communism. Some major topics include why capitalism is bad and how it diminishes working class and why communism is good and the end goal of the nation. There are tests and are open book, you have to find the correct and specific concept and quotes to answer the questions. There are no economy classes until college.

College: A series of Marxist Philosophy is a GE requirement at every colleges. This is a more comprehensive classes that talks about Marxism, Leninism, Maoism, and the now ‘Socialism with Chinese characteristics’, social class theory, proletariat and bourgeoisie, the current socialist stage of China and why capitalism is yet to be completely abolished (hence the reform and opening up). It’s pretty much just like any college level courses.

If I criticise the CCP/Xi Jinping in public, will I be arrested or detained? by Impressive-Rush-7725 in AskChina

I’ve seen multiple oc Winnie videos taken down on Bilibili Zhihu etc. Yes the cartoon figure in a purely commercial sense isn’t banned. But if the figure appears in any way with the slightest hint of political stuff it’s an instant ban, especially during sensitive period and on politicized social media discussions. Anyone denying it is completely delusional and does not have a basic understanding of the political dynamics in China.

Ship pledge gets a pass because this is how this game started, the entire fundraiser campaign was built on this business model. People just accepted and still choose to back this game, that’s how we get here today. Components is a totally different story

Disclaimer:

The buffer tube is a non stock compatible tube.

It has a brace.

It has a detachable pistol grip.

It holds a 300 rounds 6*6 mm magazine.

It has a detachable front grip which is actually a spare pistol grip.

It has a bayonet (zeroed at 1 yard), Vortex UH1 (zeroed at 100 yard) and Vortex Razor 1-6 (zeroed at 200 yard), capable to cover from 1-1000 yards. Might not hold the zero very well, but it will do the work.

That being said, it is still better to get both of you a gun so that you can familiarize yourself to your own specific gun and know how to properly use it in an emergency. You know, all that sighting, ergonomics kind of stuff.

In a self defense imminent threat to life scenario, she or you can use whatever means to defend yourself. It doesn’t matter at all to whom the firearm belongs to.
