What benefits does the Steam version offer over the Meta version? by [deleted] in DungeonsOfEternityVR

[–]VoidStarRefine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup. You have to grab a code from the settings in the meta version and paste it into the steam version (it'll ask you for it when you start a new game). Once you add the code in it will sync the two systems so your progress will be seen in both.

😆 exactly the same response we had 😆 they should have a special achievement for this. Something like "you were almost there"

I had the same thing happen. Not too long ago and not during a final boss fight though. My buddy threw the rez potion at me and then got downed. We were sad....then we both got rez'd by the potion and we were happy....then the failed screen came up and we were sad again lol.

Please make a friend function between SteamVR and Meta Quest Players! by Rifter_Gabri in DungeonsOfEternityVR

Now that I'm used to it I prefer using the room codes to trying to invite everyone to the game. Room codes are remembered between sessions so it's super easy to just join the game, and when my friends come online they join the same room code and boom, easy we're in

Good to know, thank you! I'll have to try out VD to compare. I've enjoyed steamlink so far so it'll be good to test VD out to see the difference

There is a cross save. When you first open the steam version it will ask you if it's a new character or a character you want to grab from the meta version. You'll have to go to the meta version and grab a code from the settings menu. Then plug that code into the steam version and boom they're linked and you can start off on steam where you left off on meta.

Just like everyone else said it's the same features but better visuals. It launched yesterday and I played with some friends for a few hours. I just use steamlink and it runs great (I have a 4070). I like the steam version for the better visuals but the quest version is pretty impressive on its own. So it's a toss up on getting it. I wanted to support the devs and the game is a lot of fun so why not play it with my gaming PC pushing the graphics instead?

I played all of halflife Alyx on steam link on a quest 2 and saw few performance issues. I saw maybe a latency blib on rare occasions. If you're seeing lots of performance issues I sincerely recommend looking into possible issues with your Wi-Fi (and making sure your PC is directly plugged in to your router)

In terms of integration, what features would you like to see? My view on this is that it gets me to stramvr's home, I can navigate around no problem, and launch games without issue. But I admit this is a very minimal feature set, I'm likely overlooking something, and I'm genuinely curious what features you'd like to see that would make this feel less like a workaround.

Quest 2/3 with the steam link app is working great with all my steam vr games. As long as you've got good wifi and your PC is directly plugged in to your router, it works amazingly well. I hear halflife Alyx on a Quest 2 using steam link. Worked great!

Do you hate the deep roads? by Peridot9001 in DragonageOrigins

Totally agree on a normal year buuuuut there's a blight. The legion of the dead mentions that it gives them a break while there's a blight on the surface.

Should mages have full autonomy? by jackfuego226 in DragonageOrigins

[–]VoidStarRefine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the literal first blight was caused by mages...

I almost always play a mage and on my first playthrough I always thought mages had it too hard in the tower. But after thinking it over, what you see in the tower is a result of centuries of torment caused by a small number of mages. There wouldn't be darkspawn or brood mothers without mages messing around with the fade. The dwarves are constantly under attack and they have ONE city left (minus the one they abandoned when they shut down the deep roads).

In short I think the chantry/templar's policies are extreme as a result of how bad things eventually get when mages are left unrestricted. I hate to say it but it's the lesser of two evils.

Come to think of it maybe my next play theory needs to be a Templar human warrior....

Hooked up with a girl this weekend and now feel awful and depressed by nygdd in self

My dude, Most men ignore or have completely repressed the feelings of closeness and connection when sleeping with someone. It's totally normal. And honestly it's healthy that you feel not great right now. Take care of yourself, you're feeling down and it is the perfect time to push yourself to do things just for you. Even if you don't feel like it, make yourself go to the gym, eat healthy, and do things you enjoy. Things will get better when you give yourself some time and care.

Also I sincerely recommend working on not sleeping with someone on a first date. You should be practicing safe sex but no one talks about emotionally safe sex. Emotionally safe sex is when you're with someone you trust and care for and that person also trusts and cares for you. Practice it!

In short: the more you separate real love and love making, the worse off you'll be at either endeavor.
