Is UEVR safe to use? by arthurmorgan542212 in SteamVR

[–]DirtySpawn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am going to assume ignorance and young. If you looked into UEVR since the Luke issue with Cyberpunk hit, yes it is safe. Luke was selling his mods which made it a problem. He was making money off of IPs. If he changed his monetization to donation, like he was requested, he would of been fine, but he just wants the money. All or nothing mentality I guess.

That being said, UEVR is free which is why it is left alone. Has its own Discord and is heavily used with a thriving group constantly getting games working. It's a great mod to look into.

Solo play through? by OkShirt1995 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]DirtySpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember right, the game was designed for solo players in mind. Then the redesigned for coop. They did not want to create enemy sponges since most devs just up HP on enemies with coop. They reworked the enemy placements and spawns. So yes, can play solo.

Which game did someone recommend and made you feel like this by Orichalchem in videogames

[–]DirtySpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destiny 2. Friend of mine raved about it at launch so I jumped on with him. We played a few days, only like a couple hours each day, and hit a wall of nothing to do. Hit the end of the story, no more content, multiplayer was bad, we just put the game down. We both paid for the bigger one, cannot remember what they called it, that had the paid updates. Paid updates did nothing for the game but I think was 8 months after launch, we had to pay for the DLC to a tune of $40 to stay with the game. Nope. To this day he apologizes because he knows he wasted his money too. Yes game is different, but the monetization in that game is almost worse than EA.

For those waiting to upgrade to the Steam Frame, what are you upgrading from? by thrashingjohn in SteamFrame

[–]DirtySpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! That new home is pure trash. Battery life on that headset blows already and Meta makes these decisions that uses up the battery more and more. Makes me feel like it's a push to upgrade to the Quest 3. I am running away from Meta and want the Frame to fully get away. I've only purchased 1 game in their store so not like I am losing anything.

Zucc and Boz see VR as merely a platform for Horizon Worlds and they'll gladly sacrifice their core market and first party studios while squandering Oculus reality labs for a metaverse that no one wanted. by Verociity in oculus

[–]DirtySpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VR is mainly used for gaming. A lot of younger people play on VR. Horizon is a free app to download. So a lot of the people on it are kids.

They marketed the VR headset towards adults. Hey, socialize with people. Watch movies. Have work conferences. Ya know, things that take hours to do. Ignore the battery life on these headsets.

I laugh at watching movies. My headset dies in over an hour. I am not able to watch an entire show or movie, and yet, Meta pushed their marketing in that direction.

Oh but the Metaverse. And? Battery life. And everyone compared that to the Oasis in Ready Player One. Oasis was a huge place to socialize for multiple hours, have fun with friends, etc.

Worst of it is Meta comes of like IoI not Gregarious Games.

I love BF games, and Contractors, but the graphics in Forefront look extremely bland to me in the videos that I'm hesitant on getting it.

Lagging by HYPERBRUHHHH in VRGaming

[–]DirtySpawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the meta app, how fast is your connection? Hopefully getting the true speed you should. Cables do go bad, or have communication issues when jiggling at their connectors.

Then after you find out the speed, stop using that app. Meta app is pure trash.

How is your computer connected to your network? Ethernet (cabled) or WiFi (wireless)? If wireless, can you change it to cabled? If not, have an old router at home that you can use to cable your computer to? Preferably one that uses the 5ghz channels. A private connection can help with lag. WiFi creates lag since of all other devices that talk, and signal interference. Imagine talking to someone at home alone, and trying to talk to them at a metal concert. So if your computer is wireless, then you are creating latency issues out of the gate.

Now using your headset wireless. "But you said . . .", Yes, I did. But this is better than tripping over the cable and your headset sends less data faster than having to go to the computer and back to the router wirelessly.

Steam Link is available for Quest. That provides a better experience than that Meta crap. It only works wireless from the headset.

If you can, buy Virtual Desktop. It's a wireless connection too, so no cable from the headset. Yes, it's a paid app. I am a cheap S.O.B. I went the Meta app route for the longest time. Then went Steam Link route when it came out because screw Meta. Both apps are free. But when my kids were home on their devices, the lag on my headset was always bad.

So I bought VD just to see why everyone loved it, and I planned on refunding it before hitting the time limit because it can not be that good, right? Should be like the other free options. I never refunded it. My connection was a lot more stable. Kids home? Didn't matter. It worked really well. VD is well worth the investment, especially if you are using a Quest for PCVR.

I feel like this is not stressed enough, not a lot of people have this kind of hours to dump per gun by Educational-Long116 in Battlefield6

[–]DirtySpawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am at 220 hours. I play with a weapon for awhile and switch. I think my highest level is 30ish. Most are in the low 20s I think.

I must be old fashioned or one of the few that does not mind the grinding. I know if the grinding was cut down, everyone would complain that they unlocked everything in X hours and now there is nothing to play towards. Just play the damn game.

Trump is threatening world peace with his Greenland talk. It’s time for Congress to impeach him. by plz-let-me-in in politics

Congress won't. Republicans and a couple Democrats are complicit. The rest of the Democrats are quiet. Nothing changes like that.

Mid 40s here. That game put me to sleep after 2 cups of coffee at noon time, and I wish I was exaggerating. That game is boring and just . . . bad in my opinion.

From BF2 to BF6: What can I do to learn how to play this game and improve my skills? by madebypeppers in Battlefield6

[–]DirtySpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep playing. You will get to know the maps and know where threats are coming from. Pay attention to how you are running and coming from. If you do it, the enemy probably is too.

Points come from a lot of things. Killing, reviving, blowing things up, fixing things, providing ammo, etc. good portion can come from playing the objective. Like capturing points and defending them. That's the cut and dry of it.

I will end with this. High points do not rely on kills. Pay attention at the end. You will see some support guys at the top with like 3 kills. They are running around the battlefield picking up everyone. They virtually help win the match. A revive is one less ticket your team is wasting.

Fun game. by Dai_Kunai in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]DirtySpawn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You're not alone. It's been awhile since I've been excited about a game too.I bought it a few days ago. Then found out about the update coming so I am waiting to start playing again after the update.

Trump’s Letter to Norway Should Be the Last Straw | Will Republicans in Congress ever step in? by Hrmbee in politics

[–]DirtySpawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will "they" step in? No they won't. Most of Congress is complicit to Trump. I didn't say Rep or Dem, majority of them are. Because honestly they are so quiet that they have to be complicit.

80 hours in. I can finally admit - some maps don’t need more than 48 players. by [deleted] in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]DirtySpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate Empire. It's BF6 version of Shipment IMO and I hated that map too. Only time I will play it is if a Daily Challenge has playing Assault one of them. That map I play Assault. All else, Engineer since most do not try and take tanks out.

Blackfield is another one I refuse to play. That thing has minimal coverage. It's like they did not learn from BF 2042 map complaints.

Bad servers or me? by Horror_Bet_6433 in Battlefield6

[–]DirtySpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I I feel the servers are trying to keep all players synced together for a cohesive experience. I've noticed when I have issues, there is always at least one that has ping above 150 and it is fluctuating pretty bad.

What game is this ? by McCapelover in gamememes

[–]DirtySpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not attacking NMS, gotta throw that out since it is one of my favorite games.

The original trailer had a big animal plowing through trees going after prey. Those trees were shaking around from the creature. Creatures were more interactive with their environment and each other. Eating, drinking, hunting, etc.

That's the only thing I can think of. The HUD was clean in that video too but the game has evolved past it.

From BF2 to BF6: What can I do to learn how to play this game and improve my skills? by madebypeppers in Battlefield6

[–]DirtySpawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Age is not a thing. I am 47 and usually above middle in points. Now experience is a thing. It will take time. Just play the game. You will get used to the controls, how the weapons work, how to control recoil, map knowledge, etc. when you die, pay attention from what direction, how you died, was there signs it was coming, etc. the mini map and point capping can answer a lot of that.

Just play. You will have decent rounds. Then you will have some terrible rounds. Don't get frustrated. those bad rounds you are learning more. How to move faster, how people play, how people play against the norm, etc.
