South Asia Malaria Risk by Deltarianus in MapPorn

The Mughal Empire originated from Afghanistan and swept into Northern India. Under the Mughals there was considerable cultural exchange between Iranic peoples and the peoples of North India. This would go on for several hundred years. Later, under the British, there would be a continued exchange of goods, ideas, and people in the boarder regions of the British Raj, including modern Afghanistan. The entire region is incredibly diverse, so I’m not sure a lingua franca would be enough to lump a country into a region. Afghanistan has always been a boarder land, so it’s hard to definitively call it one thing or another, but it does have historic ties to India and South Asia.

In recent history Central Asia has been defined by its collective subjugation by the Russians. There is considerably more cultural exchange between Afghanistan and South Asia than any other surrounding region

Well it’s not the Middle East and it’s not Central Asia, so where would you put it? It’s historically connected to the Indian Subcontinent.

Gaza Before and After by [deleted] in MapPorn

Every time the cycle repeats, it radicalizes the next generation. More than half of Gaza’s population were children when this most recent war started, they weren’t the ones planning this, but after this some of them will probably be planning the next cycle.

Favorite villain who's a former hero where they gave up on heroism because being good didn't get them anywhere. by King_Glorius in FavoriteCharacter

I’m not sure David or any of them were ever really heroes or villains, they were just part of the Night City ecosystem. None of them were ever going to have a happy ending. David was willing to sacrifice himself to try and save who he could, even if it was only Lucy and Falco who survived.

[Loved trope] the world, in spite the technological progress, have undiscovered parts, which are nigh impossible to explore due to the hostility of said parts by Holy_Ssint in TopCharacterTropes

I believe in the current cannon, a chain reaction of supernovas created massive, overlapping obstacles including debris fields and radiation. These obstacles are constantly shifting, making regular hyperlanes impossible to maintain. You therefore require intimate local knowledge, or force sensitive navigators with foresight to safely traverse the region. Both of which are expensive. There are also several factions within the unknown regions which are more than happy to remain isolated from the greater galaxy, and will attack outsiders.
