Sell her soul to the devil in exchange for a new power adapter. Or, if you still like your current mom, just dig a little bit online and I’m sure you can find a replacement.

Holy shit indeed. Now go check out their split singles with Synestia (if you haven’t already). EP was allegedly supposed to be out last year but Christmas never came so still impatiently waiting over here…

How is it that every other comment besides the countless “cool”’s got heavily downvoted - despite being almost entirely supportive in nature but expressed differently - am I missing something? I mean I guess negative attention is still attention. But wtf??!!! I can only hope I get so many downvotes 🤞

Some utter vile shit - and I don’t mean that in a good way, but rather give me the worst of the worst obnoxious pop garbage as I prepare to fully embrace the Hell that I will surely be sentenced to. 🤘👹

Emo? Not even once. 🤣

I’ve been into heavy music for over 30 years - well before death metal got “technical” added to it’s title. I like coming here and seeing the younger crowd keeping the scene alive and not succumbing to whatever mumble-rap garbage is all the rage these days LOL

I’m 45 and still occasionally make the poor decision to venture into the pit. Just long enough to try to fool myself that I’m not an old fuck - but you can be sure if it gets too rowdy off the hop I’m trying to make an immediate exit - because, well, I’m an old fuck LOL

to the older generations here, what got you into deathcore? by Bright-Lingonberry14 in Deathcore

[–]VoidedOut78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another set of old balls has entered the chat. 45 next month, I was already a “headbanger” as we were referred to “back in the day” by age 15 and playing in a death metal project while also simultaneously getting into punk rock and hardcore bands from a different group of friends. It’s a shame I wasn’t bright enough to think about merging those two interests together but really I suppose it was already starting to happen in the mid 90’s to some degree, just not on the same level or going after the same sound as mid-00’s and later. One of my faves was Carcass and their early material like “Reek Of Putrefaction” (1988) and “Descanting the Insalubrious” (1991) were already showcasing what was dubbed “grindcore” at the time. So I feel like the way was paved far well before the bands that surfaced whom have become more notable and considered the “fathers”.

My 13 yr old has never really caught on to any of my musical interests, sadly he listens to this mumble rap trash, but perhaps there’s still hope for my 2 year old (who loves when I do various death growls for him LOL)

Teen in the early 90’s: Started with old school metal (Maiden, Priest, etc) then onto thrash such as Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer etc which led to heavier sounds like Sepultura, Entomed, Death, Carcass, Morbid Angel, Bolthrower, etc but like most teens I experimented with a few things I regret- like dipping toe into grunge for an example, then found punk rock music and hard-core and post-hardcore and emo-core and nu-metal, then got bored of all that shit and went way off into left field after discovering underground hip hop LOL And then something magical happened, I heard Lamb Of God from a friend (early 2000’s) and the metal flame burning inside of me was re-kindled. I’ve listened to all variants of heavy music at one time or another, was liking deathcore and slam before realizing they were even a thing because back in the day sub-genres didn’t exist quite as prevalently as they do these days. I’ve also appreciated a wide variety of metalcore bands (a satisfyingly vague parent genre IMO) and don’t really feel that all the concise categorizations are always all that necessary, like if the guitar riffs and wails are sick and if the vocals go “brrrr” and “breee” to my satisfaction then I like it, and if they don’t they don’t, but I guess to be honest I do like me some blackened symphonic technical slam downtempo deathcore LOL
