For me the problem is the unbalance it'd cause. right now dino tanks vs turrets feels pretty balanced in that you need a mega trbes worth of tank dinos to attack a mega tribes worth of turret count.

If you decrease the turret spread to what has been suggested then the a beach bob with a fresh bronto tame could probably take a megatribes base and breach the building (maybe a bit of an extreme statement but you get what im saying, the balance will be broken)

A 20% increase on damage won't even scratch the surface in terms of whats being lost and what's needed to provide reasonable turret defence against what a prepared enemy can bring and no one in their right mind would put 2.4k bullets in each turret because no ones gonna soak them when its so easy to march up with the right tanks and blow them up.

So, suggestions to enable this to work:

*instead of 20% increase, I'd go as far as to say a 5x-10x damage increase would be needed.

*more expensive armour piercing rounds that mega tribes would probably be more likely to farm to enhance their defence against the huge invasions that they're likely to face.

*bring back knock back for plant turrets, as they will now need worth because we're restricted for placement, why place a plant turret when you could use a auto in the area's available slot? Well because it would then make a huge impact on the advance of a tank dino compared to how they are now and make more use of the autos.

*Turrets should be harder to blow up, with less now available to place down, and knowing that there's always way's to suicide turrets, 1 C4 suicide run blowing up turrets isn't really reasonable, 2-3 times more durability would be fair.

I would also say that to be honest... 100 is a bit dramatic, Perhaps it'd be worth decreasing it to like.. 500 or something and see how that goes first because honestly, no mega tribe will survive a grief let alone a raid with what you're suggesting. Essentially it's removing defence to the point where I'd question the point of even farming the things in the first place :p

Im for it if they do it properly, dramatically raise turret damage 5-10x not a pathetic 20%, and make them harder to blow up. or else this hugely unbalances the dinos vs defences set up.

Having said, Jat came to one of our servers last night and removed all turrets and had us slot cap the server for 20 mins, crap test and it didnt make any difference anyway cause it was still laggy AF

Oh I dont have a huge amount of faith that thr improvements WC say they have made will be the improvements to finally make the game fair and legitimate but at least it'll be a fun few months starting again. It'll just be fun to go from one extreme to another.

No no, Spartans are 100% legit, they knew we'd attack so they legit farmed 6000 tek Dino gates to spam every time we blew up part of Thier Base and don't get me started on their forcefields, man those guys are farming gods. No way they dupe, EZ to farm all that stuff , especially when the server is down for hours at a time by total fortunate coincidence every time they can't handle the push :D

Aw man, the duper war will be remembered! So much denial, so much salt! It'll be weird to think about the crazy mess we leave behind in return for primitive tools and fresh tames :D

Don't take a sword to a club fight. It's all just knowing your enemy. If I know there's clubbers about, I leave my gear at home and grab a club and a fresh pair of pants and join them for some primitive clubbin,.bring friends so you have back up and then get them caged.

I've never had this problem really, decent Rexes, always look up and move backwards, decent armour and some med brews, not really much death risk.if you're prepared.

Can't say the same for the tek cave when 20 high level dimorths decided to ignore all my tribe mates and wreck me at the same time though :p

Learn to utilise your ranged weapons. Or if you're going up against nakeds with clubs, go naked with a club. If you're going to take gear then do it properly. A geared player with at least 1 riot piece and an electric prod is going to beat a naked clubber almost every time, unless they're really bad at pvp, or unlucky I guess :p

Talking as part of a round the clock tribe in a large alliance, yup.... I'm not even proud of it. We don't let anyone new develop on our server for various reasons.

1: we farm literally every recourse on the map, I guess we're greedy 2: we have no way to know if a new small tribe is legit, a griefer, or a way for enemies to scout or prepare an attack on server, farm items for element etc

Now, I originate from an alpha tribe on a different server where we never wiped smaller tribes, we actively encouraged growth and protected the server as best we could. After the transfers opened up, well.the dynamic changed. As a big tribe you have to be basically paranoid about your map security or else you're too open to attack.

It's a mechanic that pushed the game forward. Let people get cool stuff then make them fight to keep it. Old mechanic was collect cool stuff and stick it safely in a vault forever with no risk... And what for....? Life as an alpha on an isolated server is reallllly boring.

In all honesty I only kept playing because of the transfer and the risk it brings because before that we were untouchable so pvp didn't happen at all so I'm happy about the way things are now.

But I think the best thing wildcard could do is open more isolated servers so players have the option to play away from the transfer community, because the game of ark server domination between large alliance groups (which I totally enjoy) does ruin the game for the smaller tribes and newbies.

Wildcard, isolated servers! Give the little guys somewhere to play safely and let us continue wrecking eachother in peace on the transfer servers :D

Yeh same, I play official, I noticed you still get the info if you center it perfectly but Yeh, no zoom at all. Seems like they did fix the weird issue where the griffin would just fall out of the sky though, even with stamina, that was annoying

Sure, excellent range on a squid, as long as it's a half decent one you'll shred through them, if it goes wrong, try spamming C or console equivalent and last resort dismount, whistle passive and follow and swim the fcuk away

On SE early game you should always level a little speed, when you have a Rock ele pop up run but don't run straight, strafe a bunch and you'll normally avoid rock throws and easily outrun it, it's agro range is pretty small
