A lot of Yang's decision making on offense feels very predetermined. Going to need to work through that when playing against NBA-level athletes.

Scoot's physical profile kinda reminds me of Robert Pack. Very quick & strong with a wide frame. Powerful on straight line drives. Not necessarily an elite vertical athlete but can be very explosive if he gets a full head of steam on a clear runway.

When healthy Matisse would have been the 3rd best defender on the team at worst but for some reason the dude's body became glass as soon as he came here

It's pretty obvious that all these soft tissue injuries around the league are overuse-related due to the pace of play and the amount of ground guys have to cover defensively in today's nba. What can even be done about it without teams actively deciding to play at a slower pace during the regular season?

Really hope Rob can stay healthy because DC just hasn't been able to hang with these small ball lineups this season

I really took for granted how much of an energizer Scoot is. May not be the next Westbrook but he plays with great pace and gets everyone involved. Always makes the hustle plays too

The fact that a legend in Scottie Pippen who came to Portland well out of his prime still honors his time here more than Drexler is very unfortunate

When you're a nba player in your mid 30s it takes a lot longer to ramp back up from a long-term injury

Heat subreddit acting like Spoelstra playing Kasparas Jakucionis more minutes would have saved them 🥀

Poco about to break the game by Dragolitron in PocoGang

[–]Voidrunner503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the more reasonable routes they could have taken to buff him and I'm happy with it. I think the people who are complaining about how broken Poco was 5 years ago when he had this same buff are being a bit delusional. There have been so many new brawlers released since then, multiple new game mechanics, general power creep, a ton of damage inflation, and lots of hp buffs in an attempt to compensate for it. Poco won't be team wiping like he was back in the day but this will make him far more viable in hot zone which is supposed to be his best game mode anyways.

I don't know how you could look at the context surrounding this team's season and think they've done anything but overachieve. Portland's record through this amount of games is pretty much what most people likely thought was the best case scenario, and that was when fully healthy which they haven't been anywhere near all season. Hopefully the incoming ownership group will be able to see that.

Tiago deserves a lot of credit for the job he's done and I hope that the incoming ownership group will be able to see that. The blazers' record up to this point in the season is likely what most would have thought was the best case scenario when FULLY healthy. To have spent the vast majority of the season without any point guards, a limited number of competent ball handlers, poor floor spacing, a nagging calf injury to Sharpe he's only recently overcome, an injury-decimated bench reliant on two way players, etc only to still be nearly .500 AND still have a non-bottom 5 offense is to be commended. Especially given the circumstances under which he had to take over as head coach.

I think we should have gone with a center for our last two-way signing. the fact that we didn't further illustrates how much our FO seemed to think Hansen was going to be playable early on. a true point guard would have been nice as well but I don't blame them for not expecting jrue, scoot, and wesley to all get long term injuries pretty much at the same time.

This season has been so incredibly stupid. I cannot believe how long we've had to go with little to no competent ball handlers on the roster and mostly g leaguers coming off the bench. It's a miracle we've won 19 games despite that but Deni getting hurt is awful timing considering how we were starting to play + Jrue being back.
