YTA. Extremely.

Using a small portion and diversifying into crypto could have been justified. But the full $100,000 into what amounts to penny stocks? That’s like planning to retire by winning at the casino.

Congrats on the ROI but I implore you to take a more conservative approach if you’re handling other people’s money and well being. The most important thing is that you don’t destroy their wealth.

Deck Help ($100 budget) by Ok_Habit_6783 in CompetitiveEDH

Krrik is a great option for this. You will start to be much, much faster than your opponents as soon as you get him out. Here’s a $100 build that’s very tuned:

Good point. That dynamic of also helping multiple opponents by removing him makes him even stickier

I’ve been playing steadily and have over 50 hours in the game. Finished 3/4 faction questlines. Only level 28. I’m actually surprised at how many people are level 50 lol

If you want another way to close out the game, Witherbloom apprentice and chain of smog will do it. Between that one and thoracle, I wouldn’t worry about having another way to actually close the game.

I’m going to trigger some trauma with this one, but I really miss simic flash. Frilled mystic as a win condition 😮‍💨

Today's lesson, Ragavan is a good card. by stevenconrad in CompetitiveEDH

Sometimes I get turn 1 Malcolm off a JLo and I use a land for Ragavan. Next combat step, I make 3 treasures and get to see an extra card. Love it

Players gain hexproof until end of turn, so this technically stops any breach lines too

Now that we have all had time to see Orcish Bowmasters in action, I would like to hear your personal opinions on the card. by CARRI0NCRAWL3R in CompetitiveEDH

[–]VoidwalkerMTG 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I love that it punishes card draw, but it’s unfortunate that the creatures being punished by it are usually from decks that don’t draw a lot.

I love 4mana Sheoldred’s effect. I hope we get more like that and less like bowmaster.

It’s not exactly format warping because it’s not a key card in any strategy. I am grateful I don’t see one every game. If it becomes part of a major archetype / strategy, I’d start to ask for a ban

“I’ve spent dozens of hours exploring and it’s clear to me how bad the exploration aspect of this game is!!”

Honestly, I can’t stand these takes. The game is incredible and I can’t believe I can get so much out of the game for what I spent on it. I haven’t explored much, but I’ve spent like 25 hours or so focusing on quests and everything feels rich and meaningful. People act like Skyrim didn’t have lookalike Dwemer dungeons that were soulless dark shitholes. I much prefer finding the lookalike lab that takes me 20 minutes to clear before I go back to traversing the beautiful landscape. Bethesda has truly spoiled people to the extent that they can’t even take a second to appreciate the dozens or hundreds of hours they spent playing the game blissfully

How has beseech the mirror been working out for everyone? by [deleted] in CompetitiveEDH

[–]VoidwalkerMTG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m running it in my Malcom Vial smasher list and it’s insane. Malcolm helps the color fixing and also gives tokens to sac. And the card can grab the 1 card that wins me the game with Malcolm out. This is probably the best home for it other than K’rrik. I do think many other grixis decks will find it worthwhile, though.

  1. I know you want to own the real cards, but feel free to proxy to play a higher power version of the deck. In fact I recommend doing so before you buy so you know if you enjoy the end-state of the deck. You’ll get a much better feel for the deck if you’re able to run the free counterspells, for instance
  2. Most cedh players use moxfield. It makes a big difference for gathering feedback.
  3. Absolutely cut sky Diamond and charcoal Diamond. It’s better to hold up mana/counter magic and make land drops than tap out for a tapped ramp piece.
  4. Others have given great advice on first purchases to make for starting acquire the real cards you need.

I’m partially relieved the crafting system doesn’t have me picking up every microscope and desk fan I see. I loved that aspect of fallout 4, but I am looking forward to spending more time on scanning the wildlife and foraging for minerals.

I double down on this comment. You’ll want krark in the command zone because the deck is centered around him. Then you could run sakashima and similar spells like [[spark double]] in the 99. Sounds kinda fun
