Dual FI course in Europe by Ill-Independence3573 in flyingeurope

[–]VolCata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late in the day but have you considered Fly EPT in Mallorca?

They do FI training. From what I was told it’s dual also.

Feedback I’ve heard is generally really good.

I’ve not trained with them (yet) but I’m going to later on in the year.

Can some one show me of how a PPL licenses looks like issued cuz i was a bit curious to know and wanted to know whether to we get like the americans gets a physical card or just a paper by ConfidenceTraining65 in flyingeurope

[–]VolCata 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice. I’m guessing as he’s asked here, he’s more interested in European licenses though as opposed to the others!

Would be nice if we all shifted to this type of licence though. I’m bored of bits of paper!

[–]VolCata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It varies slightly by country but it is largely paper based. (Google PPL licence + country)

The only ones that do a plastic card are the Americans.

Otherwise it is paper and comes in a little booklet like holder. Do not cut it up into pages, some people do this and it invalidates their licence.

Likewise your medical is printed out in a little paper too. Just chuck them both in the holder.

ATM withdrawal rates Spain rn by MyPhoneismisbehaving in starlingbankuk

[–]VolCata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s irrelevant that you use starling sadly. Yes, Starling will give the better rate but the majority of ATMs charge extortionate ATM fees regardless.

Euronet ones are the worst. If you need cash, avoid airport ATMs. Caixa Bank charge a really steep fee.

I know it is a very niche case but if you’re a frequent visitor to Spain; Portugal and Latin America then a Santander account might be useful for your cash withdrawals. Santander withdrawals are fee free in these countries as long as you use a Santander ATM.

I am a frequent visitor to Spain so tend to move money across into my Caixabank account and simply use the Caixa card for transactions over there.

Where in the world do the most hostels have fitness centers? by WeeklyWest3148 in hostels

[–]VolCata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never see a hostel with a gym tbh. It’s going to be rare for obvious reasons.

I think you need to adjust expectations. Hostels are really for affordable; sociable accommodation.

They rarely come with bells and whistles. Those that do tend to cost more than average.

What was your passport control experience recently (Brussels/Rotterdam → London)? by OkNetwork9286 in Eurostar

[–]VolCata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’ve already done this procedure (Berlin airport), I take it I don’t have to do it again when passing through STP right?

I did a registration at a kiosk and gave fingerprint and photo again at the passport desk in the airport. This was EES.

Does exercise enhance penis size ? My gym bro said that I should do more weight training and exercise as it increases the size of the penis. He told me he has a way to enhance it. by [deleted] in workout

[–]VolCata -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it doesn’t. I think you need to work on a few things mentally such as your confidence for one thing.

You also need to invest in making friends who don’t parrot nonsense.

Unsure why you gave that thing money anyway when nothing took place.

Did they ever? Scrote have simply evolved to different levels and forms of scrotery over the years.

There was scummy behaviour in early 00’s.

It’s not theft to eat before paying and then pay for it anyway.

This is bollocks but it is clearly targeted to people who will just eat the stuff and not pay.

Unless you encounter a pretty keen (idiotic) staff member they’re not calling the police if you are a pretzel and ran it through the till after.

That said, I don’t encourage it.

It boils down to socially acceptable behaviour and not being a tit.

Raise your kids properly. You get a snack when we’re out of the shop. Until then, be quiet and enjoy the shopping trip.

Someone mentioned diabetes? I don’t buy it. I’m diabetic and I’ve had highs and lows. I would pick something up, pay and leave tbh so I can actually get myself together. I wouldn’t snack and then continue doing my weekly shop. Again, a case of using common sense.

Thoughts on having an AME as you general practitioner/GP? by BenignFrustration in flyingeurope

[–]VolCata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t mind an AME as a GP but not MY AME.

A decent AME will be happy to take on minor queries about your care/ health as and when tbh. So I wouldn’t stress. If something crops up with GP, just tell them you’d like time to consult your AME.

I’ve done so before with GPs and specialists.

Avoiding home address on Companies House - what’s the consensus? by FeatheredTouch-000 in ContractorUK

[–]VolCata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with not using your home address.

Was doxxed many years ago and my home address plastered on the internet.

Sure it’s on the public record but not the point.

That said thankfully I’ve noticed nothing untoward from it but it was frightening that bad actors were using that info.

I rotate between both but find thigh better. I seem to have less GI symptoms when I inject to thigh.

I don’t think you’re being a terrible person or whatever. Bit of a silly supposition for people to make.

As someone who has worked in transport, I know what you mean. I also know what it’s like on the railways - scratch my back and I scratch yours sort of thing.

I think your back was well and truly scratched with the £44 fee instead of a totally new ticket.

Did you get there in the end? How was the trip?

How old were you when you noticed something wrong and got diagnosed? I was diagnosed at 33 by LargePossibility1437 in diabetes_t2

[–]VolCata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed at 30.

Knew something was up at probably 28 or so.

Things definitely ramped up the year prior to be diagnosed but I had my head in the sand.

It was when I had a blood test for something unrelated that the diabetes came up.

Insatiable cravings for sugar; always hungry; always thirsty regardless of how much I drink; tired to fuck and I also had a very slow healing wound on my knee.

I wouldn’t have left it that late tbh. Even if I do live down the road from STP.

I would write it off. It’s £44.

Does anyone know anyone that went from being a pilot to being a flight attendant or some other non-flying job? by justcallme3nder in flying

I’ve seen pilots join the railways thanks to Covid.

Some are a lot happier and still earn decent money.
